Well, all Auburn recruiting beat writers reposted their announcements. They usually don’t do that if Auburn’s not involved.

I was never panicking to begin with. Look at previous posts. I mever felt Brown was anything other than 100% Auburn. Im not more panicked than I was after about the 3rd game of 2010 and we knew how good Cam really was. An injury would have bombed that season but sometimes you gotta have a little faith. Get a mobile backup from FCS like Trinidad and let's ride. Brown for Heisman 26

Panicking about backup QB seems like absurd way to follow a college sport in january 2026 but more power to you.

Yeah, Auburn fans love them some thin QB rooms with no competition. I forgot, carry on!

Here we go again with "cOmPetiTiOn"

Didn't I just explain this shite to you?

Brown signs a $3-4M deal which Thamel reports "projects as one of the most lucrative in the NIL era", but don't worry guys...we're walking into spring practice with a QB competition on our hands. Gotta get 3-4 more guys like this and then we can run them all through the gauntlet, just like they do it in the NFL .

Josh Allen shows up to training camp with the Bills each offseason and has to re-win his starting job .

I mean I would love to have a room full of draftable QB's but I'm also realistic. Now that we have Brown in the bag backup QB is pretty low on my personal priority list.

If you want a backup you want an Ashton Daniels not a Clint Moseley or a Chayell Garnett.

A part of me believes Champ Anthony can actually start and play well in the SEC at corner. If we just find one other good corner we might be fine. Newboy and winters are flat NFL guys in my opinion.

That dude brings the wood. Like watching him play.

Having 2 start worthy QBs is not unrealistic.

I do agree with that. Give me a veteran who has had experience somewhere. I don't care about measurables or potential. If the experience was at a lower tier p5 (like Daniels) that's probably best case scenario.

If Brown puts up the numbers he did last season, he will get his incentives and probably be the highest paid QB in the country.

Ahh, so his contract has performance-based bonus incentives??

Interesting... I've not heard of a player contract using incentives before. Interesting idea. Seems like a much better way to go than what it going on now.

Your reading comprehension is potato worthy. Nobody has said anything about Brown not being the clear QB1. But injuries happen on the regular in football. Have you ever watched football before in your life?
