Didn't Duke sign a multi year deal with Mensah when he transfered? Not worth the paper it's printed on.

uncle’s that become “agents” is one of the main problems with college sports right now.
It is unlikely that they understand:
1. How a contract works legally.
2. How taxes work.
3. How to allocate/invest money to build a future
4. How to say no to posse
5. How to avoid impregnating multiple women who are literally trying to get pregnant by the athlete
6. How to say no to family and friends.
7. How to buy things that create value instead of grills, tats, clothes, cars, and jewelry.
Other than that I’m sure uncle Cleo is the equal of Jimmy Sexton.

What really a kicker is the uncle is probably taking a similar cut that Sexton, or similar, would.

I’d recommend that these kids take half of their NIL in trust until age 35.
Most will be broke earlier, but at least there might be a nest egg to have at 35.
They should do retirement savings max in addition to half in trust.
This is not going to end well for many athletes who move around, never graduate, spend like a 20 year old will.

This may be me, but I don’t remember the portal being this bad the last several years. I knew it was bad for the sport, but this year has reared its ugly head a little more.
At what point is there an attempt to reel things in? I can’t imagine other historically great programs sitting aside watching Texas tech, A&M , Texas, Oregon and a few others just outbid everyone else, seeing the writing on the wall, and not putting up a fight.

Amaris Williams is a badass. He’s going to do well at UGA.

Just waiting for the stories over the next few years about how all these NIL stars are broke.

It's going to get worse and worse each year. I think last year was the first year we had evidence of guys signing "contracts" and then transferring after (the Wisconsin player IIRC). This year it's even more prevalent.
Eventually the sport will bottom out and either congress grants one of those anti-trust exemptions to the NCAA or a few teams break off and start a super-league with their own rules which would tamp down on the wild west 24/7 free agency going on right now.

He was 3rd string behind Faulk and a kid from Sam Houston

Possible but also could be recruiting territory.

Mike Leach had the answers.
Two kinds of college football players.
1. traditional scholarship where everything g is guaranteed for 4 years long as you progress academically and devote time to learning how to play football.
2. Hired guns. Paid to play. Can leave whenever and be fired whenever by the coach.
