I hope so Corch. If we end with a top 15 roster with Brown at QB1 I'm gonna have high expectations. I wanna see an Indiana type turn around here. With his new offense and general to run it AG needs to use the portal for a net positive on both lines to make every game winnable.

Just let me know what color jersey to pull for next season. Keeping track of players is futile.

Seems to be normal to turn over half the roster every season

Yep, isn't college sports just great....

Bro ypu hounded me about whether Chaplin deserves a raise....and then you tried to say "I dont care what we pay."

Once again nobody believes you.

And as Corch said, our roster should be pretty solid in the end based on the money we are spending, regardless of who leaves

Corch is full of shite if he thinks that. You cannot go get 40 from the portal and expect a "good roster." Hell we are interested in Carde Smith and Corch has always shitted on that tackle.

Ok - all you experts, It seems pretty obvious no skilled player is going to play just for a scholarship. So you have $30 Million as your roster cap. How many players do you pay (don't forget the redshirts) and what do you pay for each position?

How many players at each group do you carry.? In short how many ways are you going to split what you allocated for each position group?

Xavier Chaplin despite his hearing impaired shortcomings graded in 5 games above 90%

His highest graded game was against Missouri at 97%.

How many of those were home games? Or against good teams? If you have the numbers.

Genuinely curious. I know he graded well versus Vandy which was on the road, but they have a small stadium (and are mid defensively). I know he had an awful grade in the high 40s/low 50s against A&M on the road.

Just curious if he does well at home or versus teams with smaller stadiums and it's the large crowds that cause him to have major issues.

LINK
2006 Transfer Portal Big Board

10. Amaris Williams (2nd best edge)
25. Jay Crawford (2nd best CB)
27. Xavier Chaplin (2nd best OT so far)
41 Horatio Fields
47 Perry Thompson
48 Malcolm Simmons
62 Blocton

Excuse me for not thinking we are just going to upgrade whole bunch of talent holes with whole bunch of portalers looking for incentivized contracts.

So many people that know better than us didn't understand why we didnt go silent count. I am chalking this up to bad coaching. He went from projected 1st round draft pick to the portal. What is uneven is the amount of people forgetting Freeze was fired for losing despite having a good roster.

Some of it can be bad offense sure, and the false start stuff could definitely largely be attributed to Freeze being incompetent and not using a silent count.

But a guy doesn't suddenly lose the ability to block due to bad coaching, a decent amount of his issues were also due to an increase in competition in the SEC. He flat out sucked against A&M and Oklahoma. An article I read also said he had sub 60 graded in 4 games overall. Which is why I'm curious on the breakdown with home versus away and stadium size.

I see where you are pulling your info from Google's AI search, which doesn't have the game by game outside of Mizzou and A&M I guess. His PFF grade for the year seems to be 54 though, which is pretty awful overall.

I pulled the grades from an On3 article.

He did suck against A&M. Not being able to hear the clap is inexcusable when you know you're going on the road. Preparation was not done. That's on the coaches.
