You don’t move your best or 2nd best QB on the roster to safety.

No problems moving your 4th best though.

Guess you didn’t see the open field tackle he made after he threw the INT where he “hurt” his shoulder

That play is when I started to realize he was more than just a diva backup quaterback. That play showed he is actually a football player. He has the right instincts and made one of our most astonishing tackles last year. Yeah he could play defense if he needed too but he hasnt lost the QB job yet.

"if he needed to"

This is what I meant. Not "too". What witchcraft and monkeyshines did you put on my post.

Would be a dominant safety.

I have aleays hated that take. Just move the QB somewhere else because he is bad a QB.

Thats worse than the every popular, move the QB to tight end.

Safety is not a easy position to learn. And he has not done a good job learning QB.

And metafor laid it out for you guys. AS much as I disliked Harsin, it was not his fault. Robby has been the same guy since he was in high school

It is what he is. Quarterbacks do not make some kind of magical turn because he gets 15 practices with another coach

Much easier then QB and doesn’t have to throw or carry the football. If you are athletic enough which Robby is, and you play with effort and physicality then you can play defense and special teams.

I like Robby he’s a hard worker and a competitor but the only way he plays any significant snaps this season is because Thorne gets injured early in the season. I’m not sure Robby will be number 3 coming out of fall but by aTm I expect Holden to jump him.

Sit back and watch. I have no animosity toward Robby I’ve just seen him since his days in high school.

He lost the QB battle to TJ Finley. He didn’t secure the QB battle in the spring when everyone knew TJ was gone and the only other scholarship player was Holden. Holden is an ok QB.

I would love nothing more than to be wrong and for Robby to shock everyone and respect him after the season and we go on a run to playoffs and hopefully win it. But as for me and my opinion I see nothing that Robby has done to think he has what it takes to win big. He’s had 3 different head coaches, more offensive coordinators than that over his college career and not one has selected him to lead their team.

Reports are Thorne is already having throwing sessions with some of the WRs on campus and organizing other offensive functions. Where is Robby? Throwing with some old high school friends and high school players under the overpass in downtown B’ham

You’re really going to take Mr. Potato Head’s opinion to help you’re argument? And it didn’t take long for Finley to get benched either did it?

If Throne doesn’t transfer, he’s easily QB1. If you couldn’t gather that from him trotting out with the 1st team in the spring game, I don’t know what to tell you.

Well, I would hope so. We all should hope that he can take over and have a great season, if he’s the guy.

Probably doing the same thing. You nor any of us have an idea of who is doing what. If Ashford’s not, then he deserves to be passed over by Throne.

The part that you might have missed is that Thorne set this up with the WRs. The WRs let it be known that none of the other QBs have done this. This shows that neither RA nor HG have taken a leadership role on the team. Thorne is showing leadership. Hopefully, HG & RA will learn from this but I have a feeling RA will not be on the team this time next year.

To be fair to RA and HG, they haven’t been on campus until this week due to the semester break. Both spent time with their own QB coach.

The reports of Thorne scheduling throwing sessions first surfaced a few weeks ago.

And the WRs reports are that they think… Thorne is him
