Robby was a D- on my grading system because he’s an excellent runner. Playmaker runner. So about as low as I could and comparing him to other SEC QBs I would put him in the bottom 3.

Thorne is a pretty sizable upgrade but currently I don’t think someone that hasn’t gone throw spring practice and has to win the job in the fall you can put in the top half of the conference.

Currently I would rank the QB rooms based on expected starters to be something like this…

LSU
Arky
UK
MSU
aTm
UGA
USCe
AU
UT
OM
UF
Bama
Mizz
Vandy

Nice premise however you may be losing people who're extrapolating SEC values to fit the whole spectrum of college football. Where each position is generally half a step better (at least) than most other conferences.

we said the same thing about Gus...but yeah sure, Hugh is going to relinquish the playcalling duties for the first time in his career this year...in his first year at Auburn...Not saying its not possible, but highly unlikely

thats just a poor take my dude. If McCall transferred in, he would top half of the league, without throwing a single pass in spring. Same with Thorne

Overall I give Hugh an A+ only thing I wish he did different was pull a for sure starter at RG. I don’t know if I can watch Stutts play more football.

Ok then.
Name our leadership and team captains. Jarquez?

Thanks for making my point for me.

Our team has the same chemistry as myself and the person behind me in the Wal mart checkout line while scrolling through Facebook. None

And please enlighten me.

How is our QB proven?

This is deja vu from last year when fans on this very site said “glad to have Calzada. Finally got a real QB!”

I believe the team will pick their leaders and team captains along with coaches input, then relay the information to the fans. It know its a complicated process, but I tried to explain it the best i could for you

If Hugh is calling the plays, hell yes. That wasnt your point at all, but feel free to agree with me that Hugh calling the plays this year is highly probable

You have no clue. Just pure speculation without any inside knowledge.

I like Thorne and his potential in the offense but he isn't McCall. Be honest with yourself

I mean, the mf had an amazing 2021 season, led his team to a new years day bowl game victory and a 11-2 season. threw for over 3200 yards, 27 tds, 10 ints. I would say that is fricking proving it my man. 2022 he was injured after the first or second game and played with a torn shoulder for the entire season on top of multiple additional injuries sustained over the course season due to getting fkn clobbered by shitty OL play...sound familiar?

Look man, you should probably just accept that the vast majority of the time, you are going to be wrong about Qb scouting. Wrong about Sean White, wrong about JF3, wrong about Jeremy Johnson, wrong about Robby Ashford...and now wrong about Payton Thorne.

Thorne was top half of his conference in the Big 10, but he wouldnt finish in the top half in the SEC? In a more passer friendly offense? Come on man. Yall need to get on board with Thorne. We have a future NFL Qb suiting up in orange and blue for us this year. Time to accept it

I never knighted for any of these QBs. I did knight for Bo Nix. And I was right there. Making shite up is still dumb And pointless. Now, you knighted for 2 passing TD wonder, Sean White….

Stats show him less than a 60% passer in conference play. His running back must’ve been great

talk about making up shite. What the frick are you even talking about? Sean white had 9 TDs, 3 Ints, 64% completion rate and a whopping 143 Qb rating in 2016.

So no team leadership yet. Got it!

40 out of 80 something players are brand fricking new. Use some common sense. There will be no chemistry right off the bat.

You’re the dumbass that said we would be contending for the west yet you didn’t bet me. Now bet or shut the frick up.

Well in 2015 he only got 1 TD in 143 passing attempts. Do I need to go on?

Sean White 10 Total TDs, 7 total Interceptions. Huge crack addiction. Arkansas State and Louisiana Monroe Slayer

You dont know that. Ive played on teams that have clicked immediately and those that never click even though we kept the same roster. Just depends on the guys suiting up in the locker room. But you keep thinking negative thoughts and I will stay positive. This conversation is boring me
