That was one of Harsin’s biggest recruiting “wins”

Good luck to him.

Probably Notre dame elitism.

As in Notre Dame will probably get him because they are Notre Dame is the source of those rumors.

You may be thinking of someone else. Sledge was the 3rd lowest ranked kid in the ‘22 class, ahead of the kicker and Caleb Wooden

I liked his frame. But doesn’t seem to have a path at Auburn

I think that is sarcasm, Jones.

Probably. Sadly, Harsin’s recruiting was bad enough that I have to take it seriously

Looking at that class, though, I kinda wonder how many kids end up leaving from it.

Sledge is official. Omari Kelly is not, though it’s been reported. M’ba is gone already. Tre Donaldson is basketball only. Powell Gordon has already been off and back on the roster. JD Rhym seems to have something going on

Would anyone be surprised if Austin Ausberry enters? Other guys in that class are Camden Brown, Robert Woodyard, and Geriner

Just seems like a matter of time before that class is gone too

Damn, forgot all about Woodyard. Wasn’t there some buzz in spring or fall with him? I don’t remember seeing him all year.

Camden Brown

Myself and a few of us had high hopes for him. His Vandy game he had 4(?) drops though. He doesn’t seem to be a good fit going forward. I think he’s a high probability to enter.

Omari Kelly

If he is leaving while WR is a position of need then he clearly isnt part of the solution.

Agreed. I don't even recognize the name.
Did he even have a reception this year?
If you couldn't break into the rotation this year, you have no chance going forward.

From what I’ve seen I’d take MM for sure.

Had some pretty egregious and ill-timed drops.

I would too. He’s a physical specimen. I don’t know much about him. He hasn’t played a ton this year. 55% 3 TDs 3 INTs, -18 rushing yards (this one surprised me). He was probably playing with scrubs though.

Do we really want to go through another QB transfer who has to learn the system?

If Geriner stays I don’t see why we’d go after a portal QB, largely for that reason.

Agreed.

I think Thorne showed he can be competent as QB with consistency in PT and has shown to be a serviceable runner. I expect his passing "deficiencies" to magically disappear once Thompson, et al, show up on campus.

I think Robby changes positions or transfers, Geriner and White battle it out behind Thorne for the future.

You upgrade if you can and if it makes sense. We gotta do better than competent

If it’s the right transfer QB, and they’re here for spring ball, then you do it IMO.

Correct, if it is a player that will make an obvious and immediate impact do it.

Isnt that the same QB from Incarnate Word?

Can he still transfer w/ immediate eligibility.

We must have a better quarterback than Thorne. I think it has been so long since we have had a good quarterback, our fans don’t remember what it was like. Thorne is not the guy we need and that was very evident this year.

We need a better quarterback.
