With the talent we're adding at WR, maybe a portal player or 2 as well, plus shoring up the O Line with recruiting and maybe a portal grab I think Thorne would be fine next year. He's not a world beater but he's proven he can runs and make decent throws when his WRs aren't dropping every third pass and he isn't getting rotated in and out every other drive. I liked his fight on his runs too, guy looked like he wanted every yard out there.
That said if we end up with some portal baller and Thorne loses the starting spot, so be it. I don't see what the coaches see, I just want to see a team on the field that looks like they know what they're doing and that wants to fight for every play and yard.

I think we need portal WR and DL more than QB. But a high level 2 year QB would be good. If he beats out Thorne great if he doesn’t great.

Looks like we have offered DT Derrick Harmon from Michigan State and some DE from Vandy.

Freeze is working just as hard to keep the players we need so we don't have to find more replacements in the portal. Of course more teams are seeing that to be a vital component for roster management.

We will lose probably 8-10 that could return. So I expect us to get 12-15 portal players.
