We have to go get competition.
I think Freeze wants to have our QB hitting somewhere around 3,000 yards, 30 TDs, and 10 INTs. He had that with Wallace and Kelly and I imagine that is what he wants to get back to .

Yep, and remember Throne was buckling under the pressure of a competition this year. Let’s see if he can handle it in the spring. If not, then that would be a good indication to Freeze to move on.

Matthew Sluka has some game as QB at Holy Cross.
Yes I know Holy Cross isnt as high up as....Incarnate Word but we need ballers. This dude reminds me of the previous Ole Miss QB.

So, let's say we bring in a transfer QB (we should) and he beats Thorne out for the starting job (he might). Does that mean Jville would have to abandon his love of backup quarterbacks..?

Rumor is Jville was like this for JJ over Nick Marshall which if that is proven true I will have to erase all conjured impressions of Jville over the years because he seems to have always been a Dual Threat lean. I can understand rooting for a specific style, but believing the coaches get it wrong every year is some Tennessee fanbase stuff.

I have sinned, but I repented. It wasn’t that I liked JJ over Marshall. I was just totally wrong thinking that JJ was going to be able to take the offense to a different level, because he was a better passer. Much like this season with those poor lost souls that thought Throne would be a better passer than Ashford, it was proven to be false prophets.
Been team true DT ever since.

It’s not limited to Leonard. I believe it was this thread I said I’d take malik Murphy as well. I’m not saying thorne is the best qb ever, im saying we have more than one deficiency on offense and when recievers get hit in the numbers with the ball and drop it multiple times a game to hats not only on him.

He's quick and shifty while running. Ran for over 2400 yards and 20 TD's the last two years. Looks like he has a covid year left. He looks to be pretty accurate. Ginger Cam

Give me Cottrell as WR. Cottrell was a 4 star recruit, 6-3 and 215. UGA wanted him but he went to aTm. He was a freshman this year, so is young.

He wasn't alone in that like he was with Gatewood and (mostly alone) with Robby.
I had several AU buddies who were saying the same after the half against Arkansas. They couldn't wait for Marshall to leave so Gus could open up the passing game with JJ.
I'll admit that I wasn't clamoring for NM to be done, but I was hyped AF going into the 2015 season about JJ. And then we all saw him break early during the LSU game.
