Chizik will coach next year, unless we win like 3 games.
Mark Dantonio,Steve Sarkisian, Dan Mullen?, Bobby Petrino, Paul Rhoades,
Gundy and Patterson already get paid a shite ton of money.

Preferably a Defensive minded coach that isn't soft. And not a hurry up spread type offense because it is going to be hard to have a good defense if they are having to stay on the field a lot.

Seriously, I would be happy to see us go after a guy like Franklin. He takes recruiting seriously and what he has done with vandy is damn impressive

Think we could convince Fisher to give up that Ram's gig and come coach his son?

Barring us going something like 3-9 with blowouts to LSU, GA, and Bama again (which is possible I give you), I don't see Chizik getting let go before the end of next season at the earliest.
But if and when we do make a change I want us to hire an offensive mind that is his own OC (a defensive coach that works as the real DC like Saban would be fine too). I am sick and tired of CEO type head coaches. I'm very sick and tired of CEO defensive head coaches that get involved in offensive gameplans and frick things up. I want a head coach that will handle one side of the equation and stay mostly out of the way of the other.

Have you watched ANY of Petrino's teams as the head coach? You'd have to open a dictionary to the word "defense" for him to know what it means. Petrino's teams have never played any semblance of defense, especially at the level it needs to be played to win championships. If you didn't know a stout defense wins championships, you should know now after watching 'Bama and LSU over the last couple years along with our swiss-cheese unit. Petrino is maybe the best offensive coach in college football, but his inability to ever field a competent defense won't allow him to win championships, which is what I want at Auburn.
Frick no to Bobby Petrino.
Frick no to Bobby Petrino.

I don't want Petrino. I want a defensive minded coach. I would look strongly at Charlie Strong. He seems to be putting it together at Louisville. I wanted Gary Patterson after Tubbs but it appears he aint leaving TCU especially now that they are Big 12. Heck I think Kirby Smart wouldn't be a bad move. Worked pretty well when we got Pat Dye

I'd love James Franklin.
I don't get the hype with this guy. What's he done at Vanderbilt? Yeah, he's brought some new energy and he's recruited well for Vandy's standards, but the guy hasn't won anything yet.
JMO, but I think ppl need to let another year or two play out before anointing Frankling as the next coaching great. Turner Gill lead Buffalo to a bowl game in 2008 -- a great accomplishment for Buffalo, no doubt -- and Kansas freaked out over it and hired the guy. Now look at him.
While Vandy won't ever compete for championships, the program isn't exactly a shell of itself like it used to be. The 'Dores should win 5-6 games a year at least, so for me to impressed with Franklin, he needs to pull off an 8-win season somewhere along the line. JMO.

I'm posting from my phone. Saban, Myer, Gruden, Petrino with a DC.
The problem is these coaches are never coming to auburn. What makes any of you think Saban will leave Bama for AU? Myer? Gruden? My point is i don't know many coaches out here to bring that type of stability in the program that are available. I really can't believe miles has built LSU into what it is. They were calling for his head in 08-09 two years change that real fast.
