The thing people don’t realize is DeBoer hasn’t built a program yet…he hasn’t even really maintained one.
He took a Washington team built by Chris Peterson, added a QB and took them to the playoffs. Not something unheard of for Washington…Peterson had done it before. Harsin took a similar path…except he was at Boise long enough that you could start to see the cracks forming once a lot of Peterson’s guys moved on.
DeBoer was only at Fresno a couple of years.
The bulk of his career and these wins everyone is pumping has been at Sioux Falls and I’m not even sure what that is.
He’ll have success at first because this is Saban’s roster…unless they see a mass portal exodus….but what happens once it’s not Saban’s guys?

Not good, judging by the big dip in recruiting between him and Peterson. Peterson was getting top 16 classes. DeBoer was in the low 20s and 30s.
