Auburn is obviously at a different stage right now than Ole Miss. Hugh has shown he wants to focus on HS recruting and hanging on to what is already here (I think that is going to pay off big in the future). Ole Miss us already got its roster in place and just needs a few pieces to move forward. Hugh came in to a complete rebuild two years after OM started and I think Hugh is just laying the foundation for a run at the big time in the next 2 years. I think he is focused on the right things right now for the long term.

He does but he is not clear in how to use the portal.

If you look at Kiffin he does decent at HS recruiting but is damn good at portal recruiting.
Think every team will end up with one as transfer portal and NIL evolve.

Of course they are at a different stage right now. Yes, that is what he was always wanting to focus on is building through HS. However, he will learn to balance it out and I assume it will be quickly. I was just responding that although yes he knows how to recruit he felt portal recruiting is something he is learning about on the fly.

Yep, I believe Hugh has one. I was just sharing what Hugh said himself that he is learning about the portal recruiting on the fly. He realizes that his need for relationship building will need to happen after signing portal transfers.
I believe that is uncomfortable for him.
