For sure. You won’t actually hear much about them since those would be used to just help them get into the flow of a college practice, but it’s good to go ahead and get them adjusted in Dec instead of having to waste practices in spring bringing them up to speed.

Exactly and I think a majority of our commits are early enrollees. Priceless practice time for those guys.

Any new commitments coming?

quote:Yea there are some pretty not-great later bowls if I recall... TBH I wouldn't sweat who we're playing or anything like that and just try to angle for the latest game possible.
Yes that’s why it would be nice to get a later bowl game. Not one in mid December.

Don’t even need a great one, just one that can fricking field it.
I hate to pile on Koy, but how does a receiver so shitty that he can’t get on the field, even be put in that situation with the game on the line?

A dude that doesn't sniff the field at all and comes out totally cold like that is usually terrible because they play tight. I mean he fricking just fell over

I mean you would figure any div 1 or even div 2 WR could fair catch a punt without falling over themselves though.
I'm not going to pile on him too much though. He will be replaying that moment in his head for the rest of his life.. Nothing I add to it is going to make it any better.

Yes.
Rumors running on campus that Cam is sold on AU now.
Williams is AU according to the football players.
I’m trying to find out about some other guys.

This is a good thing bro. Solid info. That’s the word tonight.
With the big big dogs especially DBs and WRs you have to recruit them every day stroking their egos.
But tonight they are AU and the football players are saying they are coming to AU. Perry Thompson is the big dog on these.

Kickoff returners are often the best returners on the team if you could just hand them the ball
Punt returners have first priority catching punts and second priority being return guys

Punts are definitely hard to catch but I give no break on this one. He called the fan catch is multi year player and has been a punt returner.

The dude's job is returning punts... you've gotta catch them. If you're having trouble tracking the ball just get away. Hell - we could have probably just not even tried to return that punt and won the game. I put the loss on (a) Moore and (b) the 4th and 31 defensive call.
I was responding to the guy saying "any second rate WR can do it"... just not true. Judging punts is tougher than kicks or passes and some guys have a knack for it, evidently our guys don't.

I'm not saying being a punt returner is easy. I'm saying a fair catch is a basic thing. Either get under it or get away. I'm not going to beat him up about it though, stuff happens.. he's probably wake somewhere right now pissed about it enough for all of us.

quote:Yea I was only pointing out this just isn't true. Catching the punt is the hard part of being a punt returner. There's no excuse for a muff in that situation though... if you're a punt returner at Auburn you better be comfortable catching punts and if you're having trouble tracking the ball it's better to get away than muff.

He will never forget that play.

BRB while I go and change my pants. This was a team of misfits cobbled together at the last moment. I know we had some frustrating losses but you can’t deny the potential. Losing is never a good feeling but the fight we showed will help us. And this kid hit the nail on the head. Go to Bama or Ga and ho hum win another natty or make your own legacy.
Happy and safe holidays everyone. I miss it / you all. I am sure UK Paul had his mind blown today, this week and weekend, even in tragic defeat. Much better than a blowout. No doubt he has stories and memories that will spread War Eagle far and wide.
Jonesy, not sucking your dick, but thank you for your contributions to this board. War Eagle. I'm a work in progress, heading north.
