JLee posted some updates - DeAndre Carter is expected to stick with AU. He communicated a lot with the staff on Sunday
Maybe expects but Texas is bringing the heat. As with all these top guys it will be about the money.

Money is factored into what is “expected”
You’re over here acting like Auburn has no money for any NIL.

Didn’t say we didn’t have money I said we should be the standard bearer for the collective NIL.
We have complained for 50 fricking years about the REC. My hope is the next 50 is all the other schools complain about OTV or whatever collective wins out at AU

Texas makes what Bama, LSU, Florida, Georgia can offer look like a joke in terms of program supporter donations. I think DeAndre will stick, but it'll be hell having them in the SEC if we're not prepared from a financial standpoint.

LOL that is not why Cass signed. The truth is he was asked the same question multiple times and this was one of his more exasperated responses.
Agree in general about high school students really liking the tech swag though.

Did you see anything that says give folks a hard time if they can't contribute?

I have 4 boys. From 29-17 years old I think I’m pretty in tune with what college students like.
Money yes
Any other free shite yes
Anyone that doesn’t think an Auburn “Apple” package would add to the benefits is dumb. Because I don’t see Tim Cool just handing over company money for a specific school. So take what you can get kind of thing

The NCAA and congress needs to legislate NIL.
The 5,000 dollar attendance fee is ridiculous. I dont want Congress to have to intervene, but something has to happen to keep NIL a wholesome program designed to benefit college kids. It is turnin into a monster that encourages greed and stupid money.

Would be unconstitutional. You can’t limit the earning potential of adults. Plus Congress should not be into the affairs of college football
Only regulating is either you are amateurs or professionals. If you’re a professional then you are ineligible that’s the only solution.

You want to get big time recruits do your part. If you aren’t you’re just running off at the mouth
And here in one paragraph is the biggest problem with what you and others are suggesting
I said it before when we talked about this topic and I point it out again.
If you feel the need for some reason to write a monthly check to a school that you didnt even attend to try and coerce a high school kid to come and play football for that program that you want to pull for, then do it.
Me personally, I am not giving them a dime to pay a 17 year old to play football. The entire concept is absolutely absurd and one day you will all see why. Im not doing it because I cant. Im not dong it because I elect not to
And I will bitch and moan about shite recruiting as much as the next guy and there is nothing you can do about it. Your "contribution" gives you nothing. Just like my huge contribution to the fishing team gave me nothing. Well, I got a T-shirt but I had to pay for it.
Your arrogance is stunning sometimes. I hope one day you see it and realize what I am talking about.

I think we are past the amateur/ professional discussion.
Someone has to regulate. I am not down for meeting visit fee demands for recruits that havent done shite and will probably end up going elsewhere anyway. Most of them will probably suck there as well.

Then enjoy 8-5 or 7-6 for the next ten to twenty seasons. Change comes wether you like it or not. We have to adjust or die. Even Tennessee fell, what makes you think Auburn can't be a bottom feeder with that philosophy?

I heard jlee and company talking about maybe Deal and Frazier coming back for a covid year last night.
Collins is more of a blocking TE, and JLee thinks them coming back is part of it. Not sure I buy that, I just think Collins sees the writing on the wall. He can probably go somewhere else and be a bigger asset than his role will be at Auburn

Yep, it has to be. The NCAA and universities fricked up by not putting them in place when they had two years to do so.

You have basically made my point. You just dont know it.
And yes I think Auburn can be a bottom dweller. And if you knew my post history, you would know that. But it wont be because I or someone else doesnt give Auburn $10 a month to buy kids. It will be because they have terrible management and waste money like it's GIVEN TO THEM FOR FREE.
Auburn has basically been a 8-5 team for the history of the program. It more than likely always will be. I will enjoy it because I always have.

Auburn has been better than 8-5 historically. Hell, they were the best team in the SEC in the 80 and 00s in terms of wins and loses. That's two decades of being MUCH better than 8-5. You have the right to choose and not give cash brother. Personally I spend more money on the crap I eat and watch on a daily basis. My biggest issue is the people who complain about Auburn's product on the field, but are refusing to contribute ANYTHING no matter how small. I personally like helping Auburn in any way I can IF it's actually makes a difference. Again, you have the right to spend your cash however you please
