I never said we would win 8 games, much less be dumb enough to think this roster would win every game. But to have an entire offseason, with a QB transfer they chose, then to have our passing game disappear vs Cal is very concerning. Also, our WR room was rebuilt too, and our OL was supposed to better than last season. We are falling short compared to last season, that isn't a step in the right direction no matter how you spin it. If we look that bad the rest of the season, and you don't think that will make recruits and commits rethink things at the very least, then ignorance is bliss.

Like you said everyone has NIL $. If they offer playing time in an offense that looks competent right now, I'm sure nobody will flip. Nobody will be in Thompson's ear offering NIL and pointing out that we can't throw the ball against a program so bad, no conference even wants them.

What? Remember Mizzou last year? Without Cadillac we would have been 4-8 or 3-9.

We are projected to go 5-7/6-6/7-5.

If anything, that game proved that we COULD win those types of games where the offense was a letdown and the defense could get it together

Yall are reading too much into the quality of the opponent.

They were 4-8 last year
5-7 the year before.
1-3 in 2020

I'm not worried about the win total this season. I'm worried about our offense being so bad recruits say frick that about playing in it. If we go all season looking like we can't pass that doesn't seem like a big problem on the recruiting trail?

Losing 38-28 but our offense looks capable is one thing. What losses will look like if we keep playing the way we did Saturday is another

This warrants some clarification. Thorne was a summer enrollee. Quite a few of our receivers were as well

You'd have to think there was still adequate time to be further along than what we saw. To be clear I'm not worried about our record this season. I'm worried about what happens to recruiting if we our offense continues to struggle that badly, and it will be worse in conference play. Regardless of when people enrolled, or anything else, perception is reality. Am I really off base to have that concern?

Coaches only had fall camp with Thorne and quite a few of these receivers. Rest was summer workouts

Before the season I think we all knew that we’d need the first three games to work things out. Now that we’re here, we are reminded that we don’t like this feeling I’m not too happy with the passing attack and I do agree, yes, this could be problematic if it doesn’t change.

I don’t think it changes what commits we currently have. I do think that it could start to enter some doubt into the minds of ‘25 kids. Definitely something Freeze and company will have to talk about on the trail

You’re good, dude. there’s not much other recruiting talk going on right now

The winter portal period will be a big one for us once again. And I think Freeze will be looking for a QB again

I think Freeze gets it fixed. You do too. What we think is meaningless on the recruiting trail

I agree Jones… QB performance may get better over the season but the Cal game showcased our need for both Oline and QB. Thorne looks nervous in the pocket, and rightfully so behind what we’re saddled with now

OLine actually looked good. The offensive anemia isn't on them this go around. Poor QB play, mental mistakes, and turnovers all contributed to the poor showing.

Poor offensive play calling and QB personnel in down and distance situations.

1. 2025 5* CB Na'eem Offord will OV this weekend per Chad Simmons.

2. KJ Bolden will OV for the UGA game per JLee.

3. We've offered Mississippi State commit, 2024 3* LB Fred Clark per Pink.

Not sure if it got posted here, but Bama commit 4* DL Beaman will OV for the UGA game.

Previously thought he’d OV for the Bama game.
