Maybe but a roster of 50 mil vs 30 mil is drastically different as we saw. (Still doesn’t mean they won’t lay an egg every now and then over a long season). We need more than just yellowwood. We need blue dragon dropping 100k too

Kirby’s point was starters are paid more so harder to keep Soph’s that can start elsewhere. For next yr we r trying to get the 22 correct!

Lines of scrimmage. Invest there. On both sides of the ball. Every spot needs an upgrade.

Then you must hit on your high school evaluations. If we are taking a borderline 4 star. He shouldn’t be expected to be an all-sec player but a solid starter after a couple years in the program. We have to stop paying for possible potential and go get guys that have proven it on the field and I’m not talking from the G-6. Big 10 or SEC plenty of players will be looking for a bump in pay.

I’m still of the opinion that the coaching is pretty solid as far as scheme and such. But if they can’t acquire and develop talent then all is futile.

They have oil money too. And they aren’t afraid to steal from children’s hospitals either.

Durka has to grow a brain this week, which I highly doubt he will.

He did really well the last two years with a void where an offense should have been. This year, it looks painfully bad. Are his own recruits just not up to the task?

It looks pretty much the same to me as the past 2 years: awful on 3rd and long and 4th downs, way too much cushion to the WRs, middle of the field is always open, etc. The defensive players are a little worse in some positions this year, but it’s the same scheme deficiencies we have seen for 3 years now.

Indeed.

Process, process, process, blah blah blah - Mr. process himself always had, no doubt, the best talent in the country.

Meh about LSU, credit to them for circling the wagons and getting Lane Kiffin. If you are able to get him you'd be foolish not to spend lavishly even if it is initially beyond your level (which it is). Success will enable more spending. But even this year, they could fail to make the playoffs.

AU needs to finish strong this year and then make the playoffs with a normal budget for an above average program. Then go from there.

Make no mistake we still have a $30ish million budget for football. Thats somewhere between 13-17 nationally.

Granted when you pay Byrum Brown 3.5, players like Cole best get SEC oline starter pay it’s not wise. Like I said prior to the season when Ramil is your best o lineman you’re in deep shite. But now that he’s been in the system you have to keep him around for next season and either go big game hunting for a LT or move Ramil to LT and get a solid p4 RT.

Like I said earlier this week that dipshit cohen selling a frickin home game for NiL better get $7m worth of QB and O line. He’s a frick stick idiot. Selling home games when Ga and bammer are away games.
