ETA: Hand is also great on social media. He was probably the coach most Vandy fans were disappointed to see leave.

JB Grimes must want to take a break after cancer. Thats understandable for sure. He has done a solid job for us

Yep... turned him down to stay with Franklin.
Penn St's OL sucks... and it was never that dominant at vandy... Hand is a solid recruiter, but on the field, he's not an upgrade over JBG IMO.

I've said it several times, Garner was a pretty good tight end coach at one time so that would be the best move to make with him. Kids love the guy and he can recruit as well as can be expected with a shitty defense and unstable coaching staff.

This is freaking dumb. I am not saying Garner is some super elite coach but the dude does not suck as bad as some of you want him too. Our DL classes under him using 247 composite ranking

I am far from a Garner apologist but I get tired of this "Garner suck" or "Garner is so lazy" narrative that gets pushed around here. Have we landed 100% of the guys we wanted under him? No, but guess what no one gets everyone they want. If you want to say he sucks at developing pass rushers then I am right there with you but this idea he sucks as a recruiter is stupid
No idea how you can label him the worst defensive coach in the SEC. Not even sure how you measure that but if you have some sort of stat you are using for it besides hating him then I would love to hear it

+1 Buddy, I'm with you. I take a beating going up against 24, 25, (26/27/28 etc .) and the Macho(less) Man. How much can a man be asked to withstand?

Was Kelly and Garner teammates at AU? Could make a difference if they were. He may be Ok in retaining him.
