VaTech is a dead program. I don’t see them ever returning to what they were under Beamer.

Too many things working against them.

And everyone thought Fuente was gonna kill it at that program.

Amazing how many “sure thing” hires turn out badly.

Wonder how much time they will give Pry.

Turning into Tennessee doesn’t look so bad anymore.

Why did they have to travel to Old Dom anyway?

They signed a 10 game contract with ODU. So they’ll have to return to Norfolk to play again

Same reason as MSU played at Troy one year. Not sure why any P5 would schedule home and home with Sun Belt teams

Because they have weak ADs that want to be nice to little schools

Just trying to build exposure in Norfolk where there is tons of talent.

They shouldn’t need to build exposure in any part of the state of Virginia… that’s what is so mind boggling.

That’s like Auburn playing in Mobile for exposure

I have no clue who at VT thought that would be a good idea. Hell, the last time they went to ODU before last night, they lost as something like a 30 point favorite.

Why they would sign a 10 game deal is beyond me, but there is some logic in doing a 2-for-1 deal. Instead of paying (or at least getting a big discount on the payment) for the G5/FCS team to come to your place, you agree that you will go to them once, they come to you twice.

It gives them a huge marquee team on campus so they can sell tickets for a higher price, plus you fill a slot on your home schedule for two years.
