Who involved in our coaching search even knows or has ties to top college football coaches? Bo, maybe?

The last time Allen Greene hired a coach was at Buffalo and he hired a D3 coach. Leipold has done well, but we need a splashy, big time hire at Auburn.

Why not summon Chizik or Tuberville to participate? I know Auburn fired both of them, but I think they would participate if asked.

Both of those guys know all the big time coaches in football and probably have great relationships with many of them.

I’m almost to the point of assuming that people are trying to run off candidates just to get back to Steele.

actually sounds as if Bo is the one trying to ensure his boys stay on staff.

Not surprising. That dude was a great football player, but is one of the most arrogant, hard headed SOB. He’s hard to listen to during interviews, and seems to believe his “Superman” myth that’s been created about him.

Why the frick is he even part of the process? Seriously?

Ok. Let me rephrase. Do you think the same people who are completely fricking up this search by advocating to keep KS on staff or to promote him to head coach, would hire a proven upgrade to Gus?

I think they fired Gus and was gonna make Steele HC until we flipped out. That was the plan.

And none of you saw that coming?

No one saw the BOT trying to hire the DC

No one imagined AU BOT thinking it’s a good idea to get Cristobal and Napier in for an interview only to tell them they have to retain Steele.

This coaching change has reached lows never before seen and you can blame the AU BOT.

I pondered it earlier today and now with the new Clark news, I truly believe they are sabotaging the search to get Steele. Enough to make you sick. Football just wasn’t fun this year and I will be gone until we maybe hire a new, good coach in the future. It is sad.

Turned down by two lower level coaches? WTH?

The most disappointing part of this whole process is that we may not have this opportunity for a long time. How many times have we looked for a head coach and may be the 2nd or 3rd best job available? We have the best available job out there, a pool of quality candidates and we find a way to run everyone off. Auburn makes it hard to be a fan sometimes.

Yeah. Depending how this goes I won't financially support the football team anymore. Can't expect change while we feed them money.

Maybe we circle back around with an offer of full control now that plan a, b and c with limited control failed?

Gawd this is depressing

Ron Sanders at 247 saying that ADAG is now in control of this search, much to the chagrin of some, and that's why Steele hasn't been interviewed.
