Apparently Gus was almost gone at the end of 2018 (As in literally last day change of mind) and Steele would have got the head coaching job then-- according to PM.

Man I wish more people here had a 247 account lol.. Ron Sanders started a thread and was taking all questions. There was too much stuff to even cover it all and I'm not sure how much is fact and how much is just some guy giving his opinion so I don't want to post it. Going to be a wild 48 Hrs though.

Just that if its announced within that time frame its most likely Steele, but after that who knows..
There was stuff about the AD, the president etc.. It wasn't a good look at all, which is why I don't feel comfortable going more into detail in case its not true.

I choose to believe that we already locked down a commitment from the next coach before it was announced that Gus was fired.
So, I’m not going to believe that hiring the next coach within a quick timeframe is indicative that we hired Steele.
Not one school wants Steele as HC. Why would we? Based on his resume we wouldn’t consider him if he wasn’t already here. I expect better from Ron and not buying.
