Best of the insiders bunch that popped up this year. He has proven connections to the team (I forget the connection but he was/is friends with a lot of guys from the Campbell/Twill teams).

It's someone else, but from an optics perspective, it probably makes sense for the new Head Coach to call all the current players and the recruits, so that they hear from him before it is announced publicly. That just makes sense to me.
Obviously, it'll leak from one of those players soon, but that's what I think.

There is absolutely nothing Auburn would gain by a Kevin Steele hire. He’s on the staff already. The Staff is a failed one. Yes, they’re led by Gus, but it’s still a failed coaching staff. There is zero chance it happens.

From Ron Sanders, a mod a 247, Cristobal not near the top of the list. Could mean nothing, but he was pretty sure Gus was getting fired a few days ago.. Asked if Steele was the hire and he said he would defer to PM, but it sounds very possible.

Does the Auburn admin just want the fans to want Gus back??? Cause if they hire Steele that's exactly what will happen. KS is old as frick and has been a terrible HC.

I mean whatever. Just win at this point. If it’s steele, it’s steele. Nothing I can do to change it. It brings absolutely ZERO enthusiasm to the program though. Winning fixes everything. As long as he does that I don’t give a shite.

I would hope not. But 2020 and being an Auburn fan, who the hell knows. I couldn’t have predicted anything from this god forsaken year.

so we fire our HC the week of early signing period to promote the DC already on staff? Even we aren't this dumb.
Just wait until after the bowl game and fire Gus.........if that's the case.
