i joined the service in 73. joined and not drafted. one of the first things they taught us is all americans have the right to protest,period. this is covered by law. the first amendant protects the right to assemble and express your right to protest. why would anyone want to take away a sacred american right? because you do not like it? freedoms are what make this country great. during the 68 national democratic convention police and absolutely beat the frick out of our vets. and lets be clear here. many of them were in wheelchairs. they were encouraged by mostly right leaning politicians. they knew the public was being lied to about nam and their brothers were dying because of it. so who is the bad guy here? it is always about more than the flag or the anthem. some of the most decorated navy seals we have say protest is fine and the proper way to do it is to take a knee. tell me how a person is supposed to protest? and i cannot say for sure because i am being brutally honest but i bet that same amendant is still in play today. i have four years of my life to the service of this country and i do not regret it one bit. i am a five point vet which means i stood up for my country i just never had to fire a weapon in anger. and it gripes my arse some folks want to change the legal narrative when many did not have the balls to join in the first place. most real servicemen will tell you the same thing. and i promise you it was drilled into us about the rights of protest. why? go back to 68 when we beat our on vets half to death because someone did not like protests. be careful what you wish for. i was there and i know it for the truth. and if you want to come at me for telling the truth go frick yourself ahead of time.
