As far as QBs go, Ashford did not impress me at all. His 'leadership' was lacking when he ran out of bounds short of the sticks and then begged with the refs. He doesn't seem to have 'finishing the run' in his skill set. If Thorne is the better RPO QB, then go with him. And don't substitute to placate. If Robbie is the better RPO dude, go that way. Freeze and Freeze alone must decide and build 'team' identity.

We had Thorne in on 3rd and one. substitution penalty. It is now third and six. What does Freeze do- he brings in Ashford. There is apparently a rigidity in the packages personnel where he feels the offensive skillset is most supreme with certain players complementing each other and he cares little about the first string or second string stuff right now. This rigidity in packages personnell is why we fed Jermiah Cobb so often the week before.

Put Ashford back there with two TEs and two RBs and run the wing T.

What was the formation with RA and backs on both sides of him??

I saw it and immediately thought our chances of getting Perry is fricked.

It also didnt work much. Our rushing offense sucks dude. Huntere had a good game, but its not like our rushing offense is our bread and butter that we can lean on. Yeah the rushing offense looks more like football than our passing offense but I am more interested in our players having a continuity in their offensive scheme and we need to learn that offense in year one. The whole point of having Freeze is the continuity.

Unlike Saban or Smart, Hugh should have enough offensive accumen that he can weather any OC change because his offense remains the same.

I give a shite what app state does. Because they apparently can piece together a competent offense with a bunch of 2-3 star athletes. We have more talented skilled players and they look like trash. I'm more worried that people like yourself can't see that. You can make excuses till you're blue in the face. It's 100% a coaching issue and it doesn't matter if it's freeze or Saban it's obvious. The sad thing is there's been zero improvement from week 1 in the offense

Who cares that they have a competent offense in their sitution? I dont even know their mascot. Much less their offensive scheme, their coach, nor their star players. They got 2 and 3 star players and beat up on 2 and 3 star players. Who gives a frick. You liked Harsin didnt you. Freeze is in year one of cleaning up after a whole decade of offensive backwardization.

Hugh was the supposed "QB Whisperer," it was pretty much guaranteed on this board.

Maybe he needs to whisper in just one player's ears instead of two or maybe he needs to start yelling. This crap is tough to watch.

Patience. Get out 6-7 wins this season and keep recruiting. The offense is just bad the blame goes all around from the coaches to the players.

But I agree with the statement earlier. I want to see pace on offense. If we are able to put up 30-35 a game and lose 45-35 then so be it.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter if we rotate QBs or not. We don’t have any SEC capable QBs on the roster at the moment. Freeze missed with Thorne, so this is what you get.

I’m fine with not rotating QBs but we should be honest with what that will actually look like. Go with Ashford full time and we will continue to see 3 and outs with single digit pass attempts a game. It will be bad, and maybe worse against any credible defense. Maybe that’s better from a consistency standpoint, but I don’t think it gets any easier to watch.

No I didn't like harsin. I thought he was a lazy coach a terrible recruiter and an all around douche. I know Harsin and malzahn left the cupboards bare but they didn't leave us with high school rejects. There are some Decent players on this roster. I don't think they are be put in situations to win on offense. That's what I'm saying. Lesser power 5 teams are doing more with less talent than Auburn. Anyone with a brain and eyes can see there's been zero improvement or adjustments on offense.

This is a throw away season dude. What you see is what you get. The defense has done better than what I expected while the offense has performed worse than expected and I already knew Thorne sucked. I still expected around a 6 win season and you probably did too, Stop getting bogged down on the details when the product is so shitty that there are many ways for us to lose a ballgame by double digits. The offense is probably going to have more success against the haves nots that are left on the schedule and then we are going to need to recruit our way back into being a decent team after we get some valuable bowl practice.

That is the way forward.

So basically what we already have? No thanks. I'll take Robby and the full RPO playbook. No more handcuffing him. Let Robby run the offense

I 100% agree. I thought we could win 6-8 games this season. It's just frustrating to see Auburn continue to look like a freaking trash bin for dumbass coaches. You can see that they can throw the ball. They ran that just before Thorne threw into double coverage in the end zone. Why not use those same plays when your up? The play calling is what is hamstringing the offense. It's like an Auburn curse. Offensive minded coaches lose their way here.

Do they run exactly the same offense? No.
Are the both stubborn to a fault? Yes.

Me the rest of this season watching our fans melt.

Freeze kept telling us how bad we are and many didn’t pay attention. Yes it’s frustrating but it is what it is this season. Carry on.

Meh, Gus at least brought home some hardware.

Hugh is Great Value Gus.

I'll be patient, Hugh needs to build his team.
