I forgot to read this thread yesterday. How are there 30 more pages and no Boom Boom?

Is it worth the read, or did this turn into an IM thread?

JGT threw up an update/consolidated his thoughts

-Today (Thurs) is when the clock starts of realistic hiring but nothing expected today

-Malzahn wants a DC in place by Monday (bowl practice) but not necessarily set in stone

-Muschamp would be given full control of every decision regarding defense (recruiting, practice schedule/strategy and won't be vetoed in regards to how the defense runs)

-Look for something around 1.5mil$+ from AU

-JGT doesn't believe Muschamp is looking at NFL seriously

-TAMU is no longer in the running for Muschamp

-South Carolina is main rival and wildcard with that HCIW idea

-Puts it at 90%

It means no one has any clue on when anything is getting announced, so they are giving you a couple dates with some outs for themselves on them.

Anyone who wants a good laugh go look at the JLEE origin of 70% thread on Rivals. Pretty comical

Added this in the OP from PM

-believes negotiations with Boom are done for the most pat and now just waiting on his decision
-confirmed no announcement planned for today
-Contrary to heavy rumor speculation staffing has not and will not be a snagging issue on getting Boom

Only place I need to go to get my Boom updates. Much appreciated.

So if I'm understanding this all correctly, it appears Gus wants nothing to do with that side of the ball and wants a guy that will take full control of half the team. That bodes well with a guy like Muschamp I would think.

Also, while I know there is a lot of conjecture that a HUNH offense like ours hurts a defense, in some way it has to alleviate some pressure on a DC to know that you dont have to make a stop every time you are out there, since our offense is most likely to put up 30+ points a game. I cant imagine how stressful it was for Boom to coach D at Florida where one TD would likely cause them to lose with their horrific offense.

@JHokanson: RT @TheAuburner: January 2006: Auburn plays Wisconsin in Barry Alvarez's last game. Auburn hires Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator.

Deja vu all over again? Alvarez announced today he coaching bowl game, Boom to Auburn tomorrow is possible.
