I'll believe it when I see it. SC just made a long time position coach a coordinator. I have a hard time believing OBC would bring another position coach as DC again.

I still would love to bring Joe Whitt Jr in as Co-DC and DB coach

TRob is legit but JWjr is one of the best there is

So is Muschamp not happening or does anyone really have any idea what's going on?

I asked about Joe Whitt Jr. when Ellis was canned. Doesn't sound like he's really interested, and I was told the timing probably wasn't right. Green Bay has 3 more weeks in the regular season plus playoffs...I doubt he'd bolt on them early and we're obviously not waiting around that long.

He'd also have to be made DC, which I'd have no problem doing. He's too good for some "co-DC" role.

I don't care anymore. We should offer Joe Whitt Jr. DC position. Bring Kevin Greene in for LB and Takeo Spikes as a GA

We either gonna do it big den or crash and burn den.

That tweet was about TRob going to South Florida not South Carolina

People are still confident, and the word going around was always "late this week", but anytime you're in a situation where you're waiting ~2 weeks for something to happen you're going to run into the possibility of stuff changing and other jobs opening up, etc. Thats why I've only been cautiously optimistic...because "late this week" just means that you're giving everybody else that much more time to convince him otherwise.

Joe Whitt Jr is in consideration for Troy job. We need to hire him as our DC and Boom can come be co dc if he wants

Same people are saying the same things they were last week. No one knows anything yet.

Does anyone else feel like the decision has probably already been made and for whatever reason they're sitting on it until it's official?

Coming from the high school ranks, Gus has got to know the mindset of high school recruits and know how important it is to get that position filled.

The other thing is there have only been a few names tossed around other than Boom, but have those been reported by ESPN or anyone else? Typically with coaching searches, you can't keep anything quiet. Just look at T-Rob being associated with the USF job.

I just fnd it tough to believe we're about to go into the dead period and he doesn't have anyone yet.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Already hired a coach, never heard his name though.

I just checked PM and JGT's posts. Nothing new from what's in the OP. AU reporters still feel he ends up at AU. May not get another substantial update til Wednesday when Boom gets back from vacation.

Barring some goofball Carolina guys, it was always though there would not be a decision from Boom til after his vacation was over.

FWIW apparently that scout writer who has "sources" and doubled down on those "sources" removed his story after the Spurrier press conference yesterday.

That's a shocker. The guy was doing a good job of drumming up hits for his site. Nothing to lose. If he's right he looks like a genius.

And it's not like he'll have any credibility at all if he's wrong, so he might as well keep with it.
