I don't see what Muschamp has to gain by waiting on all the SEC bowls. It's not like anything is going to change after the bowls except a few jobs maybe filled.

buys him time with the NFL jobs if he is giving that a hard look.

It sounds like it might be time to move on from Muschamp.
No. The time frame from AU sources on an expected Boom decision has always been mid to late this week. If we get to that point with no Boom then we may move on.

we absolutely need to have a $hit or get off the pot talk with him if he hasn't made his move by the end of the week. Recruiting won't wait on his decision.

Well, seems like either Muschamp will take our offer this week or he is waiting to see what nfl offers may come his way at year end with USC as a backup plan if he doesn't get an nfl offer he likes.

Definitely possible but rational info was that Boom was never going to make a decision before he finished his vacation. His vacation ends on Wednesday so let's give it a few days on Boom,

With that said even though there is no info suggesting it Gus may be willing to wait as long as SCe or most NFL teams because after this weekend recruiting is in a dead period from next Monday through January 14th. Other than mid year juco targets deciding on December 17 the one call per week AU gets to recruits in that period will not make or break battles.

Clearly you have never had a phone conversation with Barry White. His voice alone could make you commit to a lifetime decision.

Tony Morell from USCe's 247 page seems to think Jim Mclwain could hire Kirby Smart and in turn Bama would get Muschamp. He went on to say AU is wanting to hire someone quickly which doesn't bode well for us getting Muschamp. Muschamp wants to wait and see what all happens with USCe, Bama, ect... Gus is going to get impatient and make a quick hire.

What about it makes no sense? Mclwain and Kirby are great friends and Muschamp has worked for Saban before. Not saying I believe any of it, but I could see how a writer could piece the idea together. Also Kirby hasn't really shown much interest in becoming a HC, but maybe he does want to get out of Saban's shadows? Boom could go to Tuscaloosa for a season or 2 and get his swag back. Have a couple years under Saban with great defenses and his stock for HC would be back on the rise.

I could see it. I just don't think Kirby leaves the moneytrain he's on right now.

No way Kirby leaves for lateral position. He has to be coach in waiting at this point

Pretty sure I remember Muschamp leaving the Dolphins to come to Auburn in 2006 to get out from under Nick Saban's significant shadow.

Now you think he wants to get back under that shadow?

Sounds legit.

Didn't say he "wanted" to, but Ted Roof could coach DC at bama for 2 years then be one of the hottest names in the country. It would be a wise career move after his name has taken a "hit" from the UF job.

Why would Kirby take the risk of going to be DC at UF? That makes no sense. It would do nothing for him. If he wanted to take a risk and get out of Saban's shadow, he would take a lower tier HC job.

And for those that can't wait a few weeks for Muschamp (if he waits that long), you're stupid.

Great, then we will just take Durkin as DC and bring T-Rob home. Me wants Durkin most anyway.
