Jay Tate through this has been fairly solid. He has from the beginning seemed the most cautious about Muschamp predictions and doesn't throw out "updates" unless something new came out.
Not saying he has been perfect just way better than Phillip Marshall

All things equal, there are any number of coaches I'd prefer if we are talking a long-term hire.
Pretty certain it's the short-term recruiting windfall most AU fans lust for. Coupled with the hope of a T-Rob coming along to perhaps take over once Boom moves on.
For USCe fans, it's a different animal all together. Spurrier will be gone in 2-3, maybe 4, years. If they don't hire a name coach to succeed, they risk going back to the Skip Holtz days!

in the end, it's about making a good hire... and that's on Gus. Beilema hired some no name LBs coach from the Bucs, and the guy totally turned their defense around in one season. Who cares if he wins December/January?... it's about how this defense performs next season. Id love to have Will Muschamp, but he's not the only dude in America that can get results.

ATM cut bait when they realized WM was not taking their offer. Went after Foster and I agree it is a great hire. AU is getting played. If Muschamp wanted to come, this thing would have been over yesterday. He is taking his time hoping other offers come and now the Houston HC position surfaces. Problem is I think we have waiting too long and have not considered all the options. Odom or Clark or Venable IMO are not the strong candidates I would have hoped for. Our D recruits will not be impressed

We are getting Muschamp. He's not going to South Carolina, he's not going to Houston, he's not going to the NFL.

Do you ever post anything besides devil's advocate type stuff? Just go to law school already, it fits your personality.

I don't think its been a debacle....I think this has gone exactly how it was supposed to. WM was on vacation, KNEW he would have plenty of options, and it taking his time in making the right choice for his long term goals.
I HATE that we aren't going to get that recruiting name boost...
I almost feel sorry for the pay sites and their staffs who feel forced to say something, ANYTHING to keep subscribers satisfied, when they really don't know anything.

Which is exactly why we haven't heard anything yet. If Boom turned it down, we would have had an announcement with someone else by now.

They get rattled easily. You can tell a difference between the pre/post 2010 Aubies. It's incredible.

Has realibarn been invented as a term yet?

Disagree. Boom might not accept AU's offer, but he isn't playing AU. Have you ever interviewed for a job? They tell you, you never accept on the spot. You don't want to appear too eager. Even if it's your dream job. You always call the next day. With high profile coaching jobs, waiting a "day" might be a "week."
He won't go to Houston bc that wouldn't be his smartest move. In fact I don't think he takes any HC job right now. And I still don't believe the HCIW thing. That was all started on msg boards and social media.

It is a business. Muschamp wants the best offer he can get. That being said, given our defensive woes, I think we need a DC sooner than he is willing to make a choice.
