Was a crappy game and a crappy game plan in my opinion. We needed to at least try to establish the run. But hindsight is always 20/20 (or for PFD 50/50).

UGA is going to make a bunch of offenses look crappy. We just aren't very good on offense right now. That's why I'm willing to sacrifice a 8-2/7-3 season for a 7-3/6-4 season to gain experience for the young guys.

Applies to many positions. Not just QB.

I think the difference is we have had supposedly talented QBs who don't develop and actually regress.

The line issue right now is primarily a lack of talent.

I'm afraid that isn't the choice we would have if we concentrated on getting experience for the young guys.

Probably more of a 'sacrificing a 7-3/6-4 season for a 5-5/4-6 season' situation.

Just looked at our depth chart, if you think our OL is bad this year...

They are all juniors in the two deep. We need to be signing like 8 lineman in this recruiting class.

That said if everybody comes back (Seth probably the only guy who could leave early) we should have 18 returning starters next year.

I myself could handle 6-4/5-5 if we went with a youth movement. But don't mismatch it. Obviously you don't replace experienced talented performing players like smoke and sherwood. But someone like Brahms hell throw Irving in their and give him a shot. Yes he could do worse but could develop into a player.

I'm ready for Burks and Butler to get some action on the DL. I'm not sure if Butler is ready to go yet I know he was dealing with and ankle or leg injury but they need reps and be able to move Wooden back to SDE.

Everyone isn't coming back. Sherwood will probably be a late 1st early 2nd rounder. Seth a 3rd rounder. Smoke anywhere from 2nd - 4th round. KJ 3rd - 5th. McCreary anywhere from 2nd - 5th depending on this season and his numbers he puts up.

Truesdell and Newkirk both could probably get FA contracts at least for practice squad players. They may or may not hold on depending on their performance. Big Kat is in that category as well.

The guys like Truesdell and Newkirk, I'm sure they have or will have graduated why come back. They aren't going to improve their stock and unless they think we are going to be champs next year and want to be a part of that unless they just love football I see no way those type guys come back. Same way with KJ Britt unless he's injured badly and need to prove himself for an opportunity for the NFL.

I do agree we need more OL but OL with talent. Signing the 42nd OT in the country isn't doing us any good. Like I said if I was coach Bick I would be in touch and have coach G, coach T-will coach porter every coach possible helping me land Mims and Bryd if at all possible. They would be true game changers at the OT spot.

Our whole offense is juniors except for Bo. Don’t know if I’ve seen that before.

I didn't realize that myself. Well nevermind on the youth movement on the OL then. Put he best 5 out there and sink or swim only thing we can do at this point.

We have to move on. Bo and the rest of the players deserve better. It doesn’t take 8 years to get it right. Gus once had something that worked, but it didn’t last and it’s over. Sooner we get rid of him, sooner we can get a better foundation in place

I’d happily pay some money to see him go. Just let me know where to send the check.

Auburn Athletic Department. If the check is big enough they might even read your letter. I'd guess to get a real response other then a canned letter you'd have to give at least 100K. Anything less would be the standard thank you for your support of Auburn Athletes blah blah blah. There would only need to be another 249 of you to get your wish.

In the words of the immortal Jerry Garcia, “it costs a lot to win, even more to lose”. The buyout sucks but long term AU is going to lose more money based on the damage being done.

Not trying to be an arse but economics is the name of the game. If they opened the stadium for tomorrow’s game even in the rain and let as many as wanted to come 85k would show up. Still get TV money.

But the lack of ticket sales, concessions, merchandise, etc there is a lot of money that is usually there that won’t be there this year. Plus football pays for all the other sports that will play. The only other sport that can support itself is men’s basketball. When the fiscal year for AU athletics comes up I bet we will be millions, and I mean millions, short revenue.

Bottom line it will be end of next season at the earliest that a change is made unless they can get him on an immorality clause which ain’t gonna happen. That’s not a support Gus statement that just the reality of the situation. Best thing we can hope for is a good recruiting class this season. Finish off strong with it and hold serve the best we can on the field. Gus is also the only coach in the conference that has multiple wins against Saban. That’s a big feather in his hat for the powers that be. Especially Rane and Harbert.

So now I want to see improvement. I had no expectations of championships this year even before covid and none after as well. Just isn’t the season. Next year is the season for expectations. West championship or he’s gone in my opinion.

I dont understand all this talk about next year, you do realize we have the same second string linemen who cant beat out this years first string. Our line will suck for the next few years IF and thats a big IF, we start doing what CorchJay is saying and get numerous quality linemen.

Georgia has been stacking 4 and 5 star OL for the last three years and you see the results.

All this nonsense about going back to Pat Dye football...we dont have the horses up front, the game plan does not matter if you dont have the personnel. The line cant make holes to run, and the pass protection against Georgia was abysmal, yet you blame Nix for bolting from the pocket too soon.

We recruit very well at every position, why cant we do it at OL, its just a riddle wrapped in an enigma.
