I'd rather have Garner and a strong staff than several of the retread assclowns being mentioned.

Like Sonny Dykes that I saw mentioned. What the hell was that?

It is literally what I said it was. A list of coaches I would make say no first.

Having a very hard time wrapping my head around your thought process. You don't like Rhule, due to his record that you find underwhelming and then you list Deion Sanders as one of your choices.

That is some might fine reasoning you have there.

Yeah I am not sure how that works between NFL and college, though.

If he takes a college job it will offset his Carolina buyout.

Despite the discussion droning on and on Goose has managed to not comprehend that Deion’s record isn’t why we want him while other coaches with less recruiting appeal should have a solid resume to warrant the risk. If I type the name Deion one more time my fingers will bleed. Slowly checking out of the name. If he gets hired great.

Your logic is quite something to behold. Sanders has a stellar track record of recruiting TWO high profile players. That is your whole reasoning? I glanced over at the recruiting classes Texas A&M has pulled over the last decade. Ummmmmmm....where is all those SEC Championship Game appearances? Hell, they even had a guy who won a Heisman, and a receiver that's catching a lot of passes from Brady. If Auburn were to lose it's mind, and actually hire a D-2 coach with zero D-1 experience, I predict the point of discussion in the future here will be, "We sure did waste a lot of talent".

Let me, let you in on just how narcissitic Sanders truly is. His son was recruited by several upper echelon D-1 schools. "Coach Prime" convinced him to go to where he could actually get a job. If Sanders' goal was to see his son excel, gain national exposure, and compete against the best, while getting a top quality education, why is God's green Earth, would he push him to go to Jackson State which US News has ranked 331 out of 440 universities? Deion Sanders is a self promotor first, and foremost. Anybody who buys into the hype, with very little evidence of future success, is naïve at best.

Good grief. I just want to see general discussion about the topic of the thread. Every damn time I open this thread or the Harsin Replacement thread, it's a pissing match between Jang and Goose (sometimes they pull someone else in...).

Can you guys just let it go already? One of you likes Deion for valid reasons and one of you doesn't like Deion for valid reasons. There. Done.

Holy hell.

ETA: Thankfully there's a couple good pages of discussion without this nonsense in the Harsin Replacement thread at the moment.

Been a Panthers fan since the inaugural season.

100% do not want Matt Rhule roaming our sidelines. Too many dumb in game decisions for me. If we thought a Boise State staff was bad just wait until he brings in a staff from Temple

Guys like Saban aren't? I have heard that argument from more than a few people and it is just stupid. Saban can pimp himself and sell insurance with a duck and sell Mercedes and WTF else, but if Prime does it, he is all about self-promotion. How is Prime's self-promotion bad for a school he goes to? You think Coach Pearl goes to football games and takes his shirt off because he just wants to have a good time at the games with the kids? Get real. You alluded to others being naive. Look inward.

I was about to say, that's exactly what Pearl does.

I think we need a personality like that.

Just my opinion...

Seriously? Bruce Pearl is your rebuttal? We see him having a good time with HIS players at Auburn events, attends football games and went with Gus to the Auburn WS game. Funny, I don't remember him hashtagging some nickname he gave his self, and printing on a shite ton of merchandise to sell to "fans". Saban and Pearl represent a brand. Sanders represents his self. That's the difference.

Guess what you said twice that confirms to us all you're a dumbass.

If all Deion wants is to become a great coach to market HIMSELF then why not be the vehicle he uses to get there? He wins, Auburn wins
