Last time we played QB musical chairs was in 2012.

Why do we keep making excuses that this team isn't a mess? We may see improvement one week, only to see it get worse the next week. Where is the consistency

Nailed it.

This year is a complete shite show.

We don't run hurry up really anymore.

We rarely pass deep.

We continue to run the qb read with no intention of the qb keeping it.

Im beginning to believe this offense doesn't work. Our staff doesn't adapt to the players we have in offense.

Not naming a starter? What a frickin joke. That's on gus. We bench jj because he is God awful. Keep Sean White in and take the training wheels off. Jesus.

This staff really pisses me off

Honestly we're terrible so it probably doesn't matter. But why play SW and tie a hand behind his back against SJSU going into a bye week? Either we were auditioning him (stupid) or we were trying to build confidence (we didn't) and now we're going back into SEC play with no better identity with two QBs that probably don't have great confidence.

Gus is playing not to lose and playing to save his job. A "W" in the record books is all he cares about right now, even if it means playing like shite against inferior opponents (i.e. kicking FG's from inside the 5).

Well, my "hope" is getting to six wins. So until Kentucky, yes I still have hope.

I'm now starting the fourth quarter and you can just look at the stat sheet and see who gives a shite. Those not appearing on the stat sheet much are the ones that are half-assing literally the whole game. JJ at receiver and he walks to the corner and rests two hands on him for two plays and then walks back towards the huddle laughing. Duke is literally not running routes at this point. The running backs are the only ones that seem to give a shite, they are all running hard at least.

I was advised last night that JJ was a invaluable addition to those plays due to the danger of his multiple threats to the defense.

Yes, I was actually told this. And I don't think the guy who told me that was being facetious.

Ken Mastrole (White's personal QB coach) thinks he can throw the deep ball just fine; in fact it was one of his biggest points he brought up when he discussed how White could help this offense when JJ was initially benched. But what does he know? He only played QB in the NFL, he's not a GENIUS like Gus.

a guy who his family paid lots of money, whom he coached and therefore has his name attached to, had good things to say about him? tell me more

The few deep balls he's thrown were drops. Sean is at least serviceable, let him chuck it and get live reps.

The fact that LSU lets Brandon Harris throw more than Gus lets Sean White throw should tell you everything.

Why now that we have a QB playing decent do we go back to rushing 40 times a game when we spent the first 3 games with a QB playing like shite trying to be a passing team. I swear Gus and Rhett are sabotaging us.

I think the thought of his arm strength being sub par comes from the few deep balls he has thrown which seem like he chucks them without much intent. He also hasn't really thrown a pass where you say, "man!" I clearly remember NM doing that against Washington State in 2013, Cam in 2010, etc...

Continuing to use Louis on sweeps.

Stanton Truitt has run that sweep a couple of times with success and is so much quicker and faster than Louis at it.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ricardo is one of the few players on this team this year that is giving it his all 100% of the time on the field. He's looking ahead to his chances at being drafted and instead of having a bad attitude and quitting on the field (hello Duke) he's giving it everything that he's got.

Even on the speed sweeps.

But I think Truitt would be the better choice for that play.

Gus hasn't adjusted his playbook from last year. It's really amazing that he thought we could be successful with the same plays and no running QB.

Don't forget using the muddle huddle before the sweep so everyone knows what is coming.

I said it earlier I really think him not naming the starter is his way of leaving the door open for JJ. If he opens the offense up for White and he plays well, then JJ either transfers or he has a full scale qb controversy next spring. He obviously will have a fan riot on his hands if White performs well this fall and he tries to name JJ the starter next year.

Read that again...then ask yourself if it is in Gus' best interest to hold back anything this year hoping he can use it next year?

Then ask yourself why we are handicapping White with horrible play calls. We actually called a one route play yesterday and it wasn't to the guy with first round talent. We have a qb in serious need of game reps before SEC play continues and we dick around and let him throw 10 passes. The coaching staff refuses to name him the starter, it's basically week to week. We aren't running the Gus Malzahn offense. There is no hurry up, there is very few moving parts designed to create mismatches. I really don't know what it is, but I do know Gus sounds like a damn detective after every game with his "we are starting to figure things out."

Because our coaches are dumbasses.

Really though, they have made poor decisions all year.

There are several possible reason.

*They know from practice reps they are getting about all SW he has to give right now.

*The O we have all defended for years as not being HS actually has a very simplistic route tree which is exposed when the defense has zero fear of the QB running.

*They know JJ gives us the best chance to average 30 per game if he plays to his ability level and they know without averaging 30 per game we are heading to a 4-8 season with the training wheels on or off the SW train.

The only thing I know for certain is Gus isn't sandbagging for next season and his hope JJ fixes his issues.
