NO extension or raise. He did what he was supposed to do and has fricked up plenty. I’m not in favor of rewarding him for one good season.

I don’t want him to get an extension and a raise, but he’s earned the right to stay. If we have the money, it’s best to hope he doesn’t bolt for Arkansas.

Give him an extension and raise, then fire him next year when he loses to Washington, LSU, A&M, then revenge games on the road to Ga and Alabama.

I would prefer he stay. I believe stability is key to a successful program and he has done well the the coordinators. Raise and extension would be fine. If he feels he needs to go, well, no need to fight that. Thanks and adios.

See what Arky throws at him. If it's $6.5 mil per year and he wants it, let him walk. No point in getting in a bidding war.

We don't need to fire him. He's not a bad coach, but he's not a great one. If we can get him for a good deal then extend him but if Arkansas throws the back at him we'd be stupid to match

I didn't want him fired but I said frick that huge contract when it was announced

What is his current contract through?

They all deserve raises

Maybe a small extension depending on original contract year

I think I was reasonable.

I will defend the board as a whole - No one ever said anything about giving him a ridiculous buyout and guaranteed money.

So frick all that

When I saw this thread bumped, I had the same feeling that a whole lot of married guys had when the Ashley Madison list came out.

Thankfully, I was not on either list.

He has earned it and we will be better off for the continuity.

He "earned it" by temporarily fixing a problem HE CREATED only for him to have the team look as unprepared as they did at the lowest points of this season in the most important game of the season. All this after 2-3 years of complete frickery wherein he couldn't get his offense to do anything.

Good for him for reeling this season back on track, but don't expect this guy to remain mistake free if we keep him long term. He is what he is; and you will still see "bad Gus" pop up regardless of how good our team is.

This was a Championship caliber season, so I personally choose not to pretend like he did something incredible because he won 10 games. I don't even care that we lost this game, its the fact that we looked like Clemson/LSU Auburn after weeks of riding all the momentum in the world. We got killed by a team that we decimated just a couple weeks ago, and it didn't even look like we were ready for a challenge.

This guy nailed it.
