fricking edibles man.
They hit. Hard.
Also, do not recommend them if you're in the middle of a 3 day hike through RMNP.

The show was awesome. Red Rocks is very cool. Worth every penny we spent coming out here. A few pics

Saw Isbell and Lucero out there back in 16. I've never been awe struck by a venue like I was with RR

Have no idea who that is but I am sure it was good.
Yea, its a great place and like everything in Colorado, its all uphill. The damn climb from the parking lot to the seats almost killed my wife.

lol at your wife comment.
Glad you had fun and great photos. Love the one showing the stage and the scenery behind it.

I started listening to this podcast called The Solid Verbal. There was an episode a few weeks ago about the coffee nap. Basically you chug a cold brew and immediately nap for the half hour it takes for the caffeine to kick in.
So I tried it. Now, the first time didn’t go well. I was so amped about the whole thing that I couldn’t nap. But subsequent attempts have been highly successful. Basically it’s a 2 hour nap condensed into 30 minutes but you don’t get the nap hangover because of the caffeine.

Its been awesome dude. Learned to use that word more this week. Have been having a ball. Hate to see it end. I will do a trip report Monday when I get home.
Today, we hiked up to Ouzel Falls. Over 6 miles up in those mountains was a huge bite for these two out of shape beach bums. My arse is tired.
It was a awesome deal and I am glad we did it but man that was tough on both of us.

Those guys riding bikes up to the peaks that are 14K are some grown arse men. I ride a little around our house and always considered it "hilly". LOL.
I talked to one guy up on top of Mt Evans and he said he had been riding that day for 4 hours to get up there. No idea where he started either.
Very impressed.
I got a little dizzy just walking around up there.

Part of the reason they're lowest state for body fat (not to mention lifestyle). Had considered moving there but 2 and 1/3 seasons per year trumped those 4 out there.

I usually see an even split on the passes up here.
I can’t do it. I did flagstaff with friends that said they were “casual” cyclists and I was a solid 15 minutes behind them. Turns out two of them compete on an amateur circuit. Flagstaff isnt’t anything compared to Evans, berthoud, or even Vail.

yea, its very similar to how I imagined it to be. Lots of odd people but they are have been extremely pleasant. Lots of hippies but they seem to keep to themselves. Every woman out here is very "sporty", good shape and wears tight black yoga style pants. Its like they give those things away or something.
Its a cool place and I totally get the lifestyle but there is no way in hell I would live here. The cold would end me. Plus there is no beach so that pretty much counts me out.
Saw a lot of different animals on this trip. Tons of Elk, some mountain goats, 6 moose, two antelope, some marmots and a few deer. The Elk in the park are like cows and we did see 6 elk this afternoon outside the park laying in some guys front yard. No bear and not sheep.
Hiked three different waterfalls yesterday but all of them were less than 1.5 miles each way and they were fine. The one today was a killer on us. Very steep, extremely messed up terrain and some good vertical stuff. We were not prepared for doing that but we did it anyway. Stories
Really enjoyed out stay and Im sure we will come back. Our biggest reason for coming was the concert at Red Rocks but I think the little time we spent in the park will make us want to come back and spend more time there. We have done Yellowstone a few times and really enjoyed it.

I ride at home when I am in shape and can keep up a 17 min mile pace usually. We are fairly hilly up around the lake but nothing like this. I enjoy it, I just don't have the time right now. I was riding with some guys who were doing 25 mile trips a few days each week then 50-60 on the weekends. I was able to keep us and enjoyed it.

I haven’t done anything over 25 miles here.
Proximity to a beach here is a real sore spot. Most of my life has been spent <1 hour away from a beach, aside from 2 years in Birmingham. I’m rectifying that in July for 2 weeks.
The cold is really not that bad. Afternoons are almost always warm and snow dries up really quickly. There are weeks that just feel like a punch in the gut everyday.
Biggest issue I have here is cost of living. I have space, a yard, and great neighbors. But my mortgage could net me my dream home in every other market I’ve lived in.
