It was a perfect throw, which it had to be. You know what makes it difficult to make a perfect throw? Not being able to set up to throw like you are in the Dr. pepper halftime challenge

Oh he's damned good at that.
Way better at that skillset than preparing teams to play on football Saturdays.

Pat Dye has to be rolling over in his grave.

Every DB should’ve been lined up against the back of the end zone…
As soon as the ball is thrown run forward and knock it it down. No one should’ve had their back turned 40 yards deep from Milroe.
But we hire shitty coaches and have to deal with it.

The funny thing is this isn’t fully true. Post Harsin most of us wanted to be competitive with our big 3 again (UGA, Bama, lsu). And we were. The sad thing is it’s easier to move on after a blowout loss than this $hit..

James had plenty of space. I still don't understand why he turned his back to the QB. He fricked up bad.

If they were playing outside contain, it was the first fricking time in the entire game that they did.

Just watched Freeze’ explanation. He said you have 9 guys back there and just have to make a play on the ball, or you can rush him and have one on ones. How does rushing 4 create one on ones? Plus you didn’t have 9 guys back there, you had one just standing in the middle of the field. Plus the only way you just guarantee you have to “just” make a play on the ball is to let the qb just stand there so you will have to make a play on the ball..

It’s because most football coaches are not very smart. Everyone just assumes these glorified PE coaches are brilliant because we are dumb enough to pay them millions.

And yet James was defending the receiver…
Alone.
I’m fully convinced now that Freeze thinks that we are all not only stupid (debatable) but blind as well (probability false).

I would not expect or ask Freeze to out his own coach but hopefully the DC gets taken cared of behind closed doors in the offseason...
Freeze talks a big talk of coaches examining their tendencies, and their philosophies, and reflecting on them. I really don't think they are reflecting hard enough if they cannot see that the simple adage "prevent prevents wins" carries more evidence of validity than their slick 2 man rush, patty-cake, reactive versus proactive defense.

I personally thought rushing 4 and delayed blitz by a LBer to his left would have put enough pressure on Milroe so he couldn’t just sit there and scan the field with that much ease

quote:You could rush 4 or rush 3 with a LB delayed rush after a 2 count. Not rushing at all just gives way too much time. Rest of the DBs can literally stand in the endzone... what a joke.

Yall are worried about rushing two. Why aren’t you worried about 10 players (not) covering 7?
8 players covering 5, two rushing, one a spy on Milroe.
