I'm in the kitchen baking pies. My Thanksgiving tradition is to make sure that everyone has his/her favorite pie. I hope you have a great day and catch lots of fish! I remember fishing with my grandfather. Those were very happy times.

My wife is mostly upset about that since she has to work this week. No baking which is her favorite thing.

Looks like no fishing tomorrow. Front is coming through and we are suppose to get some high winds. Will just hang around and watch some football....

May run a few black Friday sales with the business. Who knows...

I was planning on getting some preserve time in for a good walk, will have to check the weather. Otherwise getting MIL condo ready for sale doing some electrical work that was done in the 70's...have a lot to do to finish but should be done before the end of the weekend

Shop moved from Cortez last week to my garage. Going to be making some changes to the business next year and needed to get out of there. The drive sucked and this will save me 2K per month. Installed the lights today. Will have my Mini Split installed before March. But for now, I am functional and up and running. Will be building orders for spinnerbaits on Friday

No more 1.5-2.0 hour drive per day

Yeah, that lighting is cool as hell.

Where/who did you get that from?

Installed them today. I bought a 72 piece kit off Amazon. Very easy to install and a incredible amount of light. Very happy with them. Especially for $160

The 72 piece kit can do 18 Hex's if configured all together. I made a plan but just came up short on connectors. I may purchase another 48 piece kit and finish off my pattern. Though I dont need any more lights

Sweet. They look great.

Do they just wire up to like an existing fixture and then you just connect/expand them out from there?

Right now, I have mine plugged into my garage door opener outlet through a smart plug and I just turn them on and off with a app. I am going to order a smaller kit to finish off my pattern tomorrow. When they come in and I install them, I am going to connect all the lights to the circuit that the old 4 foot fixture is connected to so I can control them from the light switch on the wall. I just got tired AF today and didnt feel like getting in to that.

Its really easy to install and do. I had asked a question about them on the Home and Garden board and did a post about installing them. A few others over there are thinking about installing them. I highly recommend them for great looking light fixtures and easy to install.

Sounds easy enough.

I will be looking into them for my shop. Right now I have a ceiling fan and two old fluorescent fixtures in there. Theyre the old style fluorescent tubes and I went through hell trying to replace one that finally burned out a couple months ago. Apparently, they're so old, they dont make them anymore. So I have been planning on swapping them out to the new style fixtures with they skinny tubes. But what you posted changed my mind instantly. Looks great and looks like good lighting as well.

I am not sure what you are doing in your garage or how big it is but man you dont need many of these. I would think a 5 hex kit would be enough for most applications. I put one hex up today and plugged it in and the amount of light was incredible. I went with the bigger brighter kit because I need the light to tie jigs and paint; I do a good bit of detail work with artist pens and my eyes are not what they once was.

Plus as you can see in the video, I have shelves pointed in all directions with inventory on them that I pull for orders. I need to make sure I am pulling the correct things since I have so many different items that are similar

The brand I bough, LZHome seem to make some of the best ones out there. They are china made but seem pretty good quality.

Going to load up Friday and head to Auburn. Got my 2 oldest coming back to AU for the IB and a bunch of friends. We'll have 16 total, only one bama fan.

My youngest got accepted to AU and to uga, he's getting the hard sell by his siblings to complete the 4th gen AU alum set and go to AU. He's playing his cards close and hasn't leaned one way or the other. I'm trying not to pressure him into AU, let him find his own path, but I HATE uga with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. That will be a tough 4 years for me.
If he plans to live and work in Alabama, push hard for AU. The connections made will be priceless down the road.

a lot harder to keep weight off

I feel your pain on that one. I make a lot of things my family loves but that contribute to weight gain. I think I gained a pound today just from smelling the pies baking in the oven. I have rolled out enough crust to cover the basketball court. Watching the family enjoy the desserts always makes me smile. I'm sure your chocolate pecan pie is delicious.

My shop is something like 60x18x12. So it is a long space.

Im thinking 4 or 5 hex on each end and maybe just keep the fan and its lights in the middle. Just looking at yours, I think a cluster of 4 or 5 every 15ft is plenty if i take the fan out will look good and put out plenty of light. The only spot I have really detailed work like you do building lures, ive got my illuminated magnifying glass bolted to the bench.

I am really glad I saw this post because I really like how it looks compared to just the plain fluorescent fixtures I was planning.

ETA: And the price is way less than I had anticipated paying when I got around to it.

Yep. Thanksgiving in Okie. On Courtney. Watching the young children of these Marines gives me new hope for our future. Got to be 25 kids terrorizing the backyard right now. I am on a turkey hangover.

Lets all hope you are right. I see kids riding bikes around our subdivision every once in a while and its great. Most of them stay inside all day.

Hello Spots

Two days of Thanksgiving has commenced. I’m responsible for cooking tomorrow, but today is all about overeating and watching football. For tomorrow, just going with a 3-day brined bird that I’ll roast the old fashioned way

Morning bro. We had our thanksgiving dinner last Friday with friends. Steaks today. I have tried to smoke a whole turkey a few times and they came out OK but now I just do the spatchcock thing. Its easy and comes out great. I did it last Friday. Did not brine. Just dried it off, trimmed up the excess after removing the spine. Used Mayo then cajun seasoning. Smoked for about 3 hours or so till internal was 160 basting about every 45 mis with butter. Took it off and put it in a cooler wrapped for about 2 hours till dinner time. Came out great and was pretty fool proof....

Its just way easier that way and the bird is always so moist. Big props on who ever came up with that idea.

I have brined one before but it was too salty for me. I am sure I messed it up somehow. I am not really a huge turkey guy. Not really a big fan of the turkey and dressing dinners. My parents were big fans of that type of meal so I had it a lot as a kid. Once a year is more than enough for me.

Got bored today and installed one of my vertical storage racks above my garage door. It does not add a ton of space up there but it was dead space to begin with. 4 foot by 6 foot and 23 inches tall. I can put a good bit of junk up there. I have another one that I am going to mount on the other side tomorrow. Ive started drinking and ladders are off limits for the evening.

IT came out great. I have had those things for a year and a half in the boxes in the garage. I didnt want to spend the effort to put them up but its not so bad. Took me about a hour and a half by myself and I had to modify the hangers so it would not hit my garage door.

The second one will be much quickier

Nice.

Are you making all your lures by yourself now? I know you mentioned in the past you had a couple employees when yall were in GA. Working out of your garage now, is it just you now?
