You have to admit Jboy is very loyal to his brother to feature that no talent as much as has.

Even the Cone guy is a better Robin

At this point I don't care much how things went down. Golesh really wants to be here. I'm not sure Sumrall really wanted to coach Auburn, he just wanted to move up from Tulane. Big difference and I think it will show in years to come.

Apparently Cohen fricked up the Sumrall hire also by agreeing to let him interview Durkin and making a decision on whether to retain him

Im starting to think Golesh was the better hire. Maybe it’s just the Kool Aid. I noticed Tulane had more penalty yards than Auburn this year (11th most in FBS). Sumrall inherited a decent program there. Golesh started from the bottom as USF.

I'm questionable on how legit the whole Durkin angle is at this point, because clearly it isn't a given that he will be our DC with Golesh. In what world would we go ahead and give the contract to Durkin and it not remain when we pivoted to Golesh?

Not saying it didn't happen, but just seems odd that it somehow isn't the case anymore.

Time will tell, but right now, he definitely feels like the best hire.

This is what we needed. So badly.

If what happened with Sumrall is true in regards to the Durkin angle that ultimately caused him to walk away from AU, it stands to reason that that would not be allowed to happen a second time. In other words, by some miracle Golesh is on line 1 and wants the job, and you scrap the Durkin angle to avoid a repeat of the last scenario… and for DJ he probably feels like a sacrificial lamb at this point because whatever he was promised or told got yanked at the 11th hour of this search.
