Lane Kiffin. That's my list.
We could afford him. He's a very good recruiter. Personality is the polar opposite of Gus. Adapts his offense to his personnel and he's a dynamic playcaller.....and he hates Saban.

Leach is a career 7-5 coach. He isn't an upgrade from Gus.

Pretty much...

Agree, he's been outstanding. It is worrisome that we might lose him if we get a new coach who brings in all his own guys.
I’d rather have a good hire bring in his own guys, we can replace a lb coach

You do realize that Wazzu has a sub .500 Win% as a program right?
Not sure how you are trying to compare a top 15 program of all time to a program that historically has a losing record

I'm sure TWill will do a great job choosing a new LB coach

His offense isn’t conducive to SEC football. Pass.
We have to stop thinking like this. Tua is passing for 300 yards every Saturday. Same for Ole Miss, Mizzou, and TAMU.
We can get on board or get left behind like Gus and Les Miles.

I get what you're saying, but TWill has gotten it done in every area of the game. He's developed D. Davis and the other LB's, Davis is also the leader on the field and locker room. He's also done a great job recruiting. It'd be great to see what he can do with Pappoe.
He's much more than just a LB coach... he's a mentor, advisor, developer.

We can have a balanced offense without it being a football sin.
Chin is trying to push one extreme while we are trying to get rid of the other. Can we not just hire a football coach that’s not a couple fried brain cells short of being in the nuthouse?
Meanwhile, the rest of tbe board wants Joey Freshwater.

I really like Muschamp, but I'd be disappointed AF paying an absurd amount of $ just to end up with him
Before saying Muschamp is a good or bad hire for AU we would have to know who the other choices were. I'd be stoked with Coach Boom over someone like Bill Clark.
With Boom we would have a good defense, top notch staff, and top notch recruiting. Offense would be the hurdle however they have looked better since Boom brought in Bobby Bentley and the new OC

yep. The game has changed rapidly as of late. Running is still my preferred method of gaining yards, but to act like a pass heavy offense isn't usable or ultra successful is ignorant. Any offense that can move the ball is a good one

I flat out said I don't want Leach as our coach.I was defending Mike Leach's coaching resume, not advocating him as AU's coach.

This is what backwards passes, fullback whirly birds, and Mcalleb up the middle does to a fanbase
It's been so long since we've seen a fluid downhill offense and consistent passing game most of us want a coach with that background.

Quick question about Malzahn's contract...
If he leaves on his own, he would owe us money, correct?
Is there anyway we convince him to look elsewhere? Say Kansas Jayhawks, 300 miles from Fort Smith, Arkansas? That program would probably love to have him. And Auburn could let him have this years money and void out any money he'd owe us. Clean break.

Ya, if we pay him ~$30mil, I'm sure we could convince him

We still owe him $30million. What you are suggesting means that he'd give up $30million just to have a clean break.
You think a clean break is worth $30million?

Yeah I'm basically hoping the guy loves Auburn enough to help everyone out of this mess (he did give us $2mil of his own money after all).
FWIW, I think he wants to be remembered positively by our fanbase. And that he wants to be able to show his face around town and go to to the games when he retires.
He could flip us the bird and take his $32mil and buy an island in the Bahamas, but he doesn't strike me as that type of guy.

We willingly agreed to give him this contract. Why would Gus taking what is rightfully owed to him considered "flip us the bird"
It isn't Gus' responsbility to bail out our moronic decision makers

Gus doesn't love Auburn and never has. We were a coaching job to him and that was it
Gus isn't active in the local community, he isn't active in the wider Auburn community and he looks pained when he is obligated to go to other AU sporting events

Being a 7-5 coach at Washington State and an 8-4 coach at Texas Tech isn't the same as at Auburn, that's well above either schools historical average.
