Roberts informed the Auburn coaching staff of his decision Sunday evening.

"They were excited," Roberts said. "I was happy, too, and I think it was awesome to see how excited they were for me to be apart of the program."

Davis certainly had a hand in Roberts' decision. Roberts told Auburn Undercover his teammate recruited him every bit as hard as the Tigers staff.

"That's my guy; that's my quarterback," Roberts said. "Being able to play with him up to the next level is just amazing."

Really happy with this OL group so far. Feels great to get a major concern locked down early.

We’ll have to hold off Bama and LSU at the end but I think he’s very likely to stick.

Only bringing it up because Roberts hasn’t been to campus yet and I think he’s a take for Bama and LSU both down the road. We’re in weird recruiting times due to the coronavirus

Either way we probably need 2 more OL if we can get on some of the higher rated kids. Maybe an Elite OT and another solid inside guy possible center. That's my expectations. That gives this Freshman class 2 years to mature with the JC kids we have coming in last class. This class won't be sexy because we will be going after OL, DL, and DB mainly but that's what wins in football.

thanks for the updates Jones.

It definitely is weird this year.

I mean, who would have thought all these numbers and better quality of commits with OLs and TEs w/ all the past frustration GUS gave in these 2 areas....Crazy good for a chance. HA!!

The Morris-Houston connection is turning out to be essential in a year where the flagship schools are locking down in state talent like never before.

They would be perfect completion to the OL class in my opinion.

Yeah maybe we can grab the elusive OT.

Good pickup today.

Might be done at OT with the 3 on board. Or it might be a guy that can play tackle or guard. Hard to tell

Got a feeling Langelo and Robert's will be a hot prospect in a few months.

I mean Roberts is already top 150. If he could get a bump from his 88 on 247 he'd be top 100.

Definitely a solid O Line class. I'd say its a B+ with a good chance at an A if we can land another prospect of Roberts caliber

Langlo allegedly has the frame that 247 likes best for OL in terms of NFL project-ability.

I think they outthought themselves on Roberts. You can look at the guy and see he’s not the typical 340lb guy. He’s just built differently

Kind of surprised with things opening up. Also surprised decision is this early.

I don’t want to get into the merits of it but it sucks for the kids. Very tough to OV a lot of schools in the fall with their own games going on. NCAA is going to have to cancel the early signing period to allow for visits or we’ll have kids signing to places they’ve never been to play football for coaches they’ve never met

Yup. & if they are going to keep the mid December-mid January dead period I recommend moving the February signing day back a couple weeks so there are 5 full weekends recruits can take OVs.

Agree. And there’s bowl game prep going on. I like the February signing day.
