This sounds promising. We won’t know how good our class is until february. I would imagine the majority of recruits waiting until February will likely still sign with us - they just want to know who our coach will be until they commit the next five years of their life to us.

In Steele’s defense, we were going to actually have a really solid defensive class until Malzahn was fired. That was still obviously the right move though.

bullshite. They were reaching last minute to sign that 5-star LB from Florida that nobody else wants to touch. I'm not going to bring up what his "issue" is, but his final 2 options are 2-6 Tennessee who's fans that the coach fired, and powerhouse 2-3 Maryland.
What else was "really solid" about our class? Picking up a few strays because South Carolina fired Muschamp?

Lewis, Hunter, Wallace, Robinson, Harvey, Wilson and a coin flip for Brooks seems solid. I know Lewis had flags but it wasn’t because of talent.

Seems like we still have a decent chance to land a top 25 class with a fired coach. I don’t follow recruiting like I used to, but that seems pretty decent.
In fact, our recruiting standings might actually end up ranking higher than our actual standings and that should tell you all you need to know about how good of a job lately Malzahn has done with this team.

Top 25 seems probable. A week ago it seems like 15 was probable. And two months ago we could’ve been closer to 7-10
