Sorry to hear that Buck.
It took me down for 16 days. Went to the hospital and they IV’d some meds and it turned me around. I still have a cough almost 3 weeks later. Hope your wife’s aunt pulls through.
It kicked my arse. Fever just never stops and the lower respiratory issues. I felt slight nausea the whole time and a slew of other things. Not pleasant.
Lanier you shared that story and when my wife took me to the hospital she went in to let them know about my condition. When we walked in a nurse took me directly in and I only got to say goodbye to my wife. After all the stories I have heard like the one you shared. I really thought that was the last time I would see my wife.
Good thoughts your way Buck

Dude,I have not been keeping up much here. I did not even know you got it. How are you doing now? It certainly hits some people harder than others and I dont even think it always has to do with pre-existing conditions. My wife tells me stories from the hospital that just floor me.
I have a "facebook friend". Actualy we have met a few times. She is sort of a celebrity in the Alabama fishing scene. She would laugh if she heard that. She got covid back in the summer. As far as I know, she did not have any pre-existing things that were odd. She is still down from it. I saw a few days ago where she was bragging about taking a 1/2 mile walk and not needing her oxygen tank. Couldnt believe it.
On the other hand, both my parents got it, who are in their mid 70's, and just basically breezed right through it. Odd
When I was hospitalized for my Gall Bladder / Pancreatitis back in the summer, I will say that I was scared to death. I have never been in the hospital and here I was in there and they thought I have covid to boot. No visitors and no idea what the hell was going on. That is a bad spot to be in
How are you now?

I didn’t post it. It was beginning of February and I am doing good now minus the coughing.
Some of the issue is mental because the fever never lets up like the flu. Tylenol helped some but it only came back. Then you are fighting from getting fluid buildup in your lungs so you don’t get pneumonia.
If you have some aches and pains that you deal with from age and injury it is magnified by a lot and your body feels real fatigued. Hospital stay was 5 hours is all. My vitals were decent so they just gave me a boost to surge ahead in fighting it. It worked. My wife and daughter got it in Oct and hardly anything.
Weird stuff. My brother was close to going ICU after being in the hospital for 5 days. The meds they were giving him finally kicked in but there may be long term damage to the lungs. He had double pneumonia and waited too long to get help.
Back in full swing but carry a lot of cough drops so people don’t freak by my cough.

Yea, I have a small "personal space" phobia sO have been using a "fake" cough for a year or so to get people the frick away from me in a grocery store.

Glad you are feeling better man.

Wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the basketball thread, but I just need to share with as many people as possible about the GOAT game I just had in the Rec on 2k21. The 15 people who will look at my Snapchat story just won't cut it
Bowl Jackson: 51 points, 10 assists
Poor guy I was matched up with: 0 points, 3 assists
Their whole team: 39 points, 10 assists

That's just the lineup order, ThaChief23 was playing PG and I was playing SG

I'm more of a Reggie Miller or something. Definitely can't drive or dunk like Jordan, but I'm a 3 point God. And damn good on D vs most matchups

We have several feet of snow. That’s not hyperbole

I was the only white guy in either team, thank you very much

Stop being so sensitive snowflake.
I still don’t even know what game you are playing. LOL.
I always thought you were black. Learned something today.

As a lefty leaner you always struck me as a moderate guy. Not that it matters. Love the gents here that are super right leaning. Good guys just different views. Hope they feel the same about me

I laughed too hard at this. I think the shaking smiley head did it for me.
