Heading out early in the morning for a quick trip back to Georgia. My dads 80th birthday party tomorrow. Out of here about 4am. Coming back early Monday morning then heading to work

A short but much needed trip to see him.

Can I use Agave instead of the surup? Ive had the OF but not like that. I want to give that a shot. I figured you would know a good way to make one

Demerara syrup makes an old fashioned better than simple syrup. Just my 2 cents

Well I make my own from raw sugar, it has a deeper flavor than white sugar for sure. Not smart enough to know where demerara fits in that equation.

We watch Mike as well. I like Denis Phillips in Tampa mostly

But like most, I watch Eli on Tropical Tidbits for the deets. Mostly the ones I dont understand.

We are doing some serious prep right now.

From Yucatan to you by Wednesday is hauling arse fast.

Down your way there's no where for water to go but up. Not sure if that's better or worst, than stacking up in river bottoms with gradient. It took several days to hear from a few folks I care about in NC and they we're just out for supplies. No power, internet, or gas.

Depends on where you are when it hits. If you are to the north of the eye it will suck water out...but if you are on the right then let the water games begin. Right now projected to hit Siesta key. What worries me the most is all of the pre-rain that we are getting. That will have huge effects on downing trees. I am also worried about how much wind we will get. That will help determine the surge which is what did our barrier Island in and with sand plowed like snow as tall as stop signs on the island...it will be interesting to see what happens.

It’s a 180mph Cat 5 now and about to take a direct hit on Tampa, so everything south of that is going to get the brunt of the surge around 10-15 ft. Even after weakening, the wind field is going to be enormous, so don’t take any chances if you are in the path as you don’t want to be in 100 mph winds for a few hours.

Florida disaster managment

Kevin Guthrie

said that Orlando could see 105 on a Tampa track. Double the surge from Helene. And that it'll still be cat-2 on exit, with plenty of surge to go left.

(storm watching with an eye on a sailboat and local paddling)

Good Luck
