AS long as we are counting on these rejects from other programs, we are never going to sustain any amount of winning. We must bring in young talent and keep them on board for 3 years.

Freeze did not inherit a roster at all and the same signing class restrictions remain. Freeze had to get experienced transfer portal dudes from the likes of FCS and others just to have bodies. We had to get players like Battie knowing he was only a one year band-aid. You have to appreciate how fricked up the roster was when Freeze arrived.

Freeze tried to go get better receivers; he tried to get Coleman and Rara.

By year three if his roster doesnt stabilize then he is doing something wrong and I will agree with you.

Had to do what he had to do. He brought in a whole 2 deep at OL

Ideally, the portal is utilized for a handful of guys or so that make you better. We gotta work down to that I think

Im ready to see some young talent at OL. Not these transfer guys. We fired Gus and paid 19 million to get the potato guy then paid he 15million to frick off and now we got replacement #2 because he didnt recruit offensive linemen and could not beat our rivals.

At some point, a new coach is going to have to do at least one of the two things.

Im not arguing at all the fact that Hugh inherited a depleted squad. He did. Some due to Gus but mostly due to potato head. He got what he could

But reality is, these D2 transfer receivers will not compete with our rival DB's. ITs not going to happen. We need some SEC, D1 talent.

We also need some young developed linemen so we are not building a line every single year. Same with QB. We dont need to change every year like we have for the past 15-20 years. It was be amazing to have a QB that played 3 years.

We watched Gus skip OL recruiting for 5 years but want Freeze to bring in freshman OL starters in year 1.

With Senda, we brought in 5 HS OL. That’s the first attempt at a real HS OL class in over half a decade.

Yeah, Hugh has done what was available to do so far. Some expectations filtering in right now, as expected lol, are unrealistic year one under the circumstances.

Hugh is recruiting those position groups out of HS pretty heavily. Hugh has given plenty of hints about the state of things without slamming the players outright. This is and always has been a huge rebuilding project right now.

We have Perry Thompson committed. 5* WR

We have Deandre Carter committed #1 IOL.

Obviously need more than that but so far looks like he’s working on it

We have the core of a future Starting Oline either on campus or in this recruiting class. Senda, Lew, and Carter all should be multi year starters.

We took one guy from Jackson State, which is, or was under CDS, a big step up from Jacksonville State. We didn't take anyone from Texas State. We did send them a QB. Everyone else in the transfer class is either G5 or P5. If you're going to bitch, at least be accurate about it.

The League has quite a few G5 "transfers". There are guys there who can play. When the need is immediate, and you are already out of it with HS recruits who have been recruited for years, then you do this. CHF did it very well. These guys haven't been playing together or in a D1 SC program prior to this year. They'll be better next year, and we will have time to develop our freshmen into SEC OL and DL.

I recall the last time an AU coach started a group of TF on the OL. It was a rough year, but they were forged in fire and it paid off a few years later. IDK if fans would accept starting four TF OL now, even if we had a class with Dismukes, Ziemba and the rest in it.

Freeze has been on the job less than a calendar year and has blown away anything we've seen recruiting wise in 7 years. He had to build the now and future at the same time

Sorry, we took a guy from the power house of North Texas to compete against our rivals

Please STFU. You knew exactly what I meant.

Not sure. I knew there was one from some shitty Texas program. I know we sent TJ that way. If I remember, one of our defensive players came from there as well.
cant remember who and I dont want to say because you know, I wont be accurate for some of these bitches

Im happy about what Hugh is doing but lets not get carried away.

2015. 8th
2016 9th
2017 9th
2018 12th
2019 11th
2020 7th
2021 19th
2022 21st
2023 18th

Im just saying that we have recruited pretty well overall. Saying he has "blown away anything we have seen in 7 years" is a bit overboard

Some pretty good recruits in those classes

I would in a New York Minute

Cant be any worse than stomaching Thorne getting sacked every other third down.

We were mainly discussing OL. There were virtually none of those of note in any of those classes

TJ FInley season stats

Great for him - who knew? We should have..... LOLOLOLOL. College football is just crazy. I love it all.

No need for the "yeah but look at the competition", etc. We all know. Anthony Richardson 2.0. 1st round draft pick incoming!

People somehow forget that Gus could recruit.

Freeze is blowing Harsin out of the water.
