We don't have much to go off yet with them this season... but they were horrible last year and I don't see how replacing Joey Aguilar with Faizon Brandon at QB is going to make them any better.

Tennessee has been the most overrated team in the country going back to last season. Somehow they've spent 19 of the past 22 weeks in the AP poll going back to last season despite finishing 0-4 last year against opponents that finished ranked in the Top 25. And they lost a bowl game to unranked Illinois.

Honestly last years Tennessee team was hardly any different than last year's Auburn team if you start going game by game.

Auburn 2025 vs Tennessee 2025 Comparison

Oklahoma:
Auburn played the Sooners in Norman and lost by just 7 points despite some very horrific officiating that benefited OU so much so that the SEC had to formally apologize for giving them a touchdown that should have been a penalty instead... and don't forget the defensive TD that was wiped off for us early in the game for no apparent reason. Tennessee lost to them by 6 in Neyland. Very little difference here but maybe slightly better performance for Auburn considering everything along with us playing in Norman.

Georgia
Tennessee lost at home by 3. Auburn lost at home by 10. Again this game had some horrific officiating that the SEC again had to apologize for and that doesn't count the TD wiped off for us in the second quarter. Very similar performances overall.

Arkansas
Auburn won by 9 in Fayetteville. Vols won by 3 in Knoxville. Advantage Auburn.

Vanderbilt
Auburn lost to the Dores in Overtime in Nashville. Vols lost by 3 touchdowns at home. Advantage Auburn bigly here.

Alabama
Auburn lost to Bama by a touchdown at home thanks to the Cam Coleman fumble. Tennessee lost by 17 in Tuscaloosa. I'd say this is a wash at best... maybe slight advantage for Auburn.

Kentucky
This is the one they have a big advantage on compared to us. They soundly beat UK by 22 in Lexington. We lost 10-3 at home.

With 6 common opponents, Tennessee only performed better against one of them.

The only difference in our seasons was that one game they did better against Kentucky plus the fact we had to play CFB Playoff team Texas A&M plus a semi-decent Missouri team while they got to play 5-8 Mississippi State and 4-8 Florida instead.

That's it. The reality is last year's 2025 team was really no better than last year's Auburn team... they just had an easier schedule and didn't shite the bed against Kentucky.

Now they replace Joey Aguilar with Faizon Brandon and we're supposed to believe they are significantly improved? I don't buy it.
