and of course i could be wrong but hear me out.does boise pay big enough money to get great assistants? do they put the same type of money in the program like auburn does? i mean what kind of school buys blue turf because it is half off with free delivery? whats your take men? athlon is predicting us to go 7 and 5 and being in the sec west and adding penn state is better than i would hope for.unless they are hhiding something we have no receivers much at all. th o kibe is a who knows kind of deal. but everyone i have talked to says our d is gonna be great and we have the fifth or sixth rated secondary in the nation. what say yee men. and any women who might be a member?

I'm trying to keep my expectations lowered, but it seems like Harsin and staff are playing to compete starting this year. If we can somehow find a LT and bring in a seasoned WR we could be actually be somewhat competitive. I was watching a film study series on Bo and the Auburn offense earlier and the difference between 2019 and 2020 was dramatic. COVID really hurt us, I think, in developing Bo and installing the offensive scheme (or maybe it was a disaster from the start). I'm just hoping it's not too late for Bo to correct his bad habits and become what we thought he'd be when we saw him in 2019.

We've always had a talent gap with our main rivals, but its an uncomfortable gap right now. I don't have much expectation this year. 6-8 wins wouldn't surprise me if its worse.

24 months before I worry or knight Harsin.

Don’t expect a lot for 2021 season. 5-7 wins.

Let’s wait and see how patient the Auburn faithful can be letting him build his process. If Harsin gets the resources and support then let’s see what he can build.

15-0 Ship!

It will take him time to get SEC talent on the OL, but I think it was a fantastic hire.

I watched Boise St. quite often. They looked like a well coached team. He seems to be very focused. We need to give him time and I think he will be a great asset for Auburn in the future.

I am glad he is hired, I believe he needs 24 Mo to make some impact in wins.

Harsin better win 8 or more games this year or he is on the hot seat imo.

Losing 6 games is unacceptable

Not in his first year.and we lost a lot of talent on offense. it is a shame seth left because we are short of receivers with much experience. he could have had a real route tree and i believe he would shine and especially if bo has improved. from their shouting match i have felt like they just did not get along well. just a feeling and nothing more. i wish him well just like i do the tigers.one thing covid taught me was not to take anything for granted.nothing. so i hope the boys surprise some folks and we whip some major arse. that being said i am old dammit and i want to see my tigers fierce and smoking again before i depart.

We still have a 3rd year starter at QB and the best RB since Caddy and pretty damn good recruiting classes at WR, just not proven. OL has issues, but what else is new. TE were have talent as well.

There should not be any growing pains allowed by the fanbase. 8 wins still is accompanied by 5 losses. FIVE. Not acceptable

okay

That’s ridiculous to even say hot seat if he only wins 6 or 7.

But I expected as much from some of you.

We seriously just fired a coach who won 8 game a year. In Gus's worst years he won 6 and 7 games, and now we are accepting of Harsin coming in and doing as good as Gus in his worst years???

Lets raise the bar just this once on coaching hires.

He certainly can. A larger budget + a bigger program is going to make the job more attractive to higher quality candidates.

The question is, will he? Does he have the contacts? Wasn't one of the big knocks on Gus was that he didn't bring in quality assistants, especially on offense?

i loved gus but he had some serious flaws. he wanted lean o linemen because of the hunh and the theory is they would be fresher all game but he quit about three years ago on the hunh but still recruited the same type guys.on several occasions it was said he would spend a week on a game plane, sometimes two, and trash the game plan everyone worked on with no time to practice a new one. and he refused to let the 1's compete so it was claimed. lots of shots taken at gus after he is gone. i will forever be graetful helping win the natty and almost getting us another one. but to expect harsin to have a great record his first year would be nice but with all new shemes it will be a while until we get our game speed up because these guys are thinking what they need to do instead of knowing and reacting immediately.it was also rumored the team was split last year tho the source never told why. look back at sabans first years at different places and he was not spectacular and he is the greatest college coach in history so far. for that reason i am ok with him needing a couple of years to get it going. what i do not want is mediocrity and letting him out stay his welcome so to speak.

Assuming we win the rent a wins to get to 7 wins we'd ned a 4-4 SEC slate. As is the norm we play 3 teams with a talent advantage. (bama, uga and LSU) A&M is a toss up talent wise with what they lost, but Jimbo will likely have them playing 8-5 type ball this year.

The season comes down to arkie, USCe, and the Mississippi schools. We should be more talented than all four of those teams and I'm hoping Harsin can coach us up.

I don't know what to make of the Penn St. game. Didn't see them last season.
