I understand the disappointment but we were picked by most predictions before the season in the 5-6 range. And given a few games easily could have gone the other way that's where we're basically finishing.

We just played the best team in the country to overtime on their home court, there's no reason we can't make a run in the SEC tourney.

I wish there was a way we could fire fans. This is just stupid. We got good looks. We just didn't make shots and the high ball screen with JQ and BM is near unguardable when they're on their game. If you want to blame Bruce for something then blame him for not recruiting over some of these guys

We out rebounded them, we out shot them at 3, yet they scored 10 more points on FTs - shot 7 more, and 3-4 of our starters fouled out. This has been the stat line on several close losses In the SEC.

frickin Refs. They pick and choose when to call fouls. And they ALWAYS have chosen against Auburn this year. The stats don’t lie. We don’t foul more that is bullshite, we just get called for fouls more. The team is visibly frustrated by it and it finally got to Bruce.

Personally I would have liked to see Green drive and then dish to either Flanigan or Jaylin and have them drive to the basket. It would have given us a better shot if we gave it to someone with length and got it inside.

But overall that was one of the best games Bruce has coached, the first 28 minutes was masterful. Just got screwed by the ticky tack fouls on Broome (and the imaginary 5th one) and since Wendell was MIA most of the game we didn't have enough offense to close the deal with Broome out.

It is what it is, we need talent.

Point and laugh at this guy.

I’ve criticized Bruce a lot.

I’ve also repeatedly stated that he should have a life-time contract provided him by Auburn University.

Its beyond rational thought how some people pine for “the good ol’ days” of 15 wins a year MAX.

Bruce didn’t lose that game yesterday. It was just another REPEATED example of SEC/ref bias. And it was BLATANT.

Giving up a 16-0 run is coaching and Bruce hasn't adjusted at all this season in the big games and moments.
Brother, you currently have 16 downvotes. Don't you know you aren't allowed to point out the obvious when it comes to The Bruce?

That being said, here's my take. Bruce allows way too much freedom. Dumb, dumb, dumb decisions with our shot taking, has been a massive thorn in our side. A majority of possession look like street ball.

It was close game against a more talented team in their place
Auburn was a Final Four team, just a few short years ago. We had two lottery picks last year. Why in the Hell does Alabama have a more talented team???

Because of roster turnover? Don’t ask dumb questions

Don’t get me wrong Alabama has a more talented team but I believe we were only a player or two short. If we actually landed better ready-made prospects instead of Traore or Chance, we would’ve had pieces that could’ve complemented a stud or two for a sweet little run just like Bama’s this year. It’s no excuse for Pearl but we weren’t floundering as much it appears. We were simply missing something. That doesn’t mean a hill of beans now; wins are wins, losses are still losses, but even without the pieces we really only got embarrassed by Kentucky. The rest still could’ve been wins. I believe Chance Westry with his length and shooting stroke was picked to be the piece but it didn’t pan out.

Bama has a good program and they unfortunately found a Jabari that can drive. But I believe they are only last year’s Auburn. last year’s. LAST YEAR. Bruce hasn’t forgotten how to coach.

On the note of Westry:
Here is a reason why we need the NIT.

quote:

For a player to qualify for a medical redshirt under NCAA rules, a player’s injury must occur before the second half of a team’s season, and he must have competed in less than 30 percent of a team’s games. Westry has played in 11 games this season after missing the first two games after undergoing preseason knee surgery. Auburn has 31 games on its regular-season slate, and while that means Westry will have appeared in approximately 35 percent of the Tigers’ regular-season games, Auburn will have postseason games in the SEC Tournament and likely the NCAA Tournament.

Can anybody do the math to get it to 30%? I’m a sidewalk fan.

37 games. So would need 6 postseason games.

I’ll just be happy if Chance sticks around at auburn. I worry he’s unhappy

That’s a worry I have with all young bucks in similar situations, football or basketball. Freshman year is a long year and he is from Arizona.

37? We probably ain’t making that.

Guards have been meh for a while. Imagine our team last year with quality guards to go along with Jabari and Kessler. We haven't had a good PG since Harper,.....and he drove me crazy with all his 40 foot shots he would take. I sure miss his play since watching what has come after.

In 2020 Doughty was our first All-SEC player under Bruce.
In 2021 Cooper averaged 21 & 8.
I guess you’re just saying you don’t like Wendell Green & KD and I get it. But we’ll probably have a couple new ones in the rotation next year
