Lanier and others are right about the drops. Several have been absolutely egregious

But because he’s transitioning to a new offense and playing the position for the first time in a few years I think he can improve. We may have to live with some drops from him. Some of the drops from him have been route or timing issues. It’s really hard to know who’s at fault without knowing how the play is supposed to be executed. Is bo early on some of these drops because of pressure? Is Hudson’s route being ran wrong? Was he lined up in the correct position? Really difficult to know from the TV screen. But those are all things that can be fixed.

I doubt he’s dropping balls when they’re warming up. Most of us wouldn’t in a game of catch. “Bad hands” usually means other things. At the end of the day, the WR just has to make plays, though. To lanier’s point, eventually, Hudson is going to have to figure out how to make the catch even with the ball is early, or behind him slightly, or whatever else. He’s done some of that and has been good for us but we need him to grow up faster because there’s maybe no help behind him

I'm just tired of our WR's looking so slow. We've got guys with some good speed, but the routes they run just look like they are running in mud.

Gotta have WRs generating explosive plays. So far we seem dependent on RBs Hunter or Shivers getting chunk yardage. Shenker has come up with a couple.

I think Hudson's probably is a lack of attention to detail. Like Harsin says repeatedly, you have to be disciplined on every play. All the techniques they teach these WRs now, and the pay responsibilities requires mental toughness.

Hudson of all our WRs has ALL the tools. Speed, quickness, size, and I think very good hands.

If you watch he catches the ball with ease. Never really bad hands or technique. But like the easy slant thrown to a wide open Hudson he simply drops it. And my recollection is he is so sure of those types as he probably catches those in practice easily all the time, he doesn't stay sharp mentally when he sees the throw as he is thinking of his move more than ball security first.

That's discipline. He can learn that, just has to do it every time.

I watched Hollywood Brown for the Ravens 2 weeks ago. Wide open, he dropped 3-4 perfect passes in his hands, and dropped every one of them.
Next game he has to dive, stretched out into the EZ for a pass almost thrown to far, but he catches it outstretched falling to the ground in full speed.

So guys like Hudson will do it eventually. If not, knowing Harsin, will find new WRs in the next recruits who will take his place.

By the way, what has happened to Dawson at WR? Haven't heard from him in a while.

Usually when guys make the tough catches and drop the easy ones it's a mental thing. They catch the tough ones because they're only focused on catching it.
