Harsin Post ADay Presser

Anybody got the inside scoop on these 4? All 4 seemed to be trending towards starting/contributing.

Hars processing folks looking to scoop up some immediately eligible transfers?

Maybe but take Harsin's advice above and trust him.

I’ll zag here. It means something. Too early in Harsin’s tenure to know what it means but this should be bookmarked

Unless they have COVID, it doesn't look likely that they will be part of the team come Fall.

If they have already proved to be shitheads in the new coach's first few months on the job, they are probably doomed.

I shudder at how bad our lines are going to be.

It would be more concerning to me if there was no bad apples processed after a coaching transition. I hope this isn’t the case, but we’ll see.

I know little about the other guys. Jackson is a clean cut, guy’s guy as it gets. It means something but I don’t have a guess yet.

Yea based on his comments, they are obviously in some sort of doghouse for something. How bad that is or whatever, we have no idea a d will just have to see.

It just strange he is processing all these guys at at once after a new coach comes in.

That’s a lot of defense out the door.

Hope it’s temporary.

Jesus Fn Christ it's like no one watched the presser. He literally said they are still with the team, just didn't participate today for various reasons, and to not make it bigger than it is

Probably routine disciplinary

No big stuff here. Just some young men learning consequences are the result of choices both good and bad.

If he lets then all go then I support the culture and accountability of the team.

Some or all of them may have just been quarantined for covid contact tracing. Most coaches have been pretty cagey about that. Certainly expect some attrition as the new staff gets established but I don't think this particular news is the time to panic.

They’re all in the same position group, so contact tracing might make sense.

No. Harsin said in the presser that some weren’t out there for different reasons(Moutry and Jackson) so it’s not totally related to Covid for sure.

It just got confusing when he referenced new guys coming in the summer, when referencing the ones kept out of practice.

Prior to the game one of the beat writers indicated we had covid positives.

None of this is out of the ordinary, and we'll have the opportuniy to bring guys in from the portal which is a positive.

- When Dye came in he ran off something like 25 players.
- Bowden I don't recall anyone leaving, but he was required to keep many of Dye's staff.
- Tuberville ran off 8-9 guys and I recall him recieving a bunch of shite about it.
- I don't recall any/many leaving under Chizik.
- There were a few that left when Malzahn came back which were disciplinary IIRC.
- Here we are with Harsin...

This is where I get the downvotes... a peron I would expect to know "things" w/r/t the AU footbal program told me a few things about Garner that I would believe. These aren't meant to be interpreted negatively or positively, just that this is Garner's make-up.

- He a great recruiter (duh)
- He's a hard-nosed coach that coaches really hard and negatively
- He's not known as a technique-oriented coach
- He had the philosophy that he wanted his group to play their way in shape in fall camp and during the season, so his group would come in a bit heavy and in average condition
- He was never interested in tracking his group during the off-season on the above

I don't pretend to know what Eason is other than I would guess he's more of a technique-oriented coach since he was in the NFL for so long. But what if you just changed a couple of the characteristics above with Eason? I could see why someone would want to leave. Not only with the DL, but with any position group.

Or these players could be shitbirds, IDK.
