AU finished 3rd in the Super 16 Gymnastics opener against other elite schools, and set a program-best season opener

We scored a 197.2 on the road. A bit down from the Vegas score last week, but I’m sure Jeff thinks this team is on track.

No coincidence Alabama has season highs on Floor and Beam to squeak out the win in Coleman, Auburn has never beat them at home, wonder why?

I think our coach likes to let them build up difficulty and try to peak at the end of season. That being said no one in the SEC can compete with UF.

UF is a juggernaut, they have several Olympians and World Champions fighting for line up spots. Oklahoma and Utah are similar in talent level (and well coached), followed by Michigan and UCLA. Auburn, and maybe 1 or 2 other teams are also in the mix.

Gymnastics scoring is one of the things that makes zero sense to me. Purely subjective. More difficult routines lead to tougher scoring etc.

Correct, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. You’re much better off doing a safe, basic routine flawlessly than risking trying someone that might wow people. Suni would break records if they did Olympic scoring instead.

I’m sorry, it just doesn’t work that way. He single handedly cost Auburn gymnastics a win. I can’t nor will I forgive him for another 7,5 days.
