This was a great game against a really physical team. This is the kind of team that can get us in the tournament on an off day for our shooters. BP said he was not happy with the lack of physicality of our guards.

BP interview - Broome’s shoulder popped out. Out against Purdue.

That seems excessive but understand.

Emphasis the rest of the week to Chaney and Cardwell… no fouls in the first half against Purdue no matter what. Even almost to the point of allowing the detriment of your defense. Everything vertical with hands to the sky and if you are late getting there just let them score

Resting him is one thing, this wasn't a "rest".

Better hope he isn't seriously injured.

I'm not doubting this, but I have not seen any beat writer stating that Broome is out vs Purdue

I heard this on the live radio interview that Burcham did with BP. He clearly said it could be something microscopic which they will know (after imaging) so he is out for the Saturday game.

ETA: this was said just after the quoted words from Hoke.

Good news: covered the spread without the best player in the country.

Bad news: Broome is likely out until February. This means that we will more than likely be sub .500 in SEC play when he gets back. Without him, we are better than the bottom teams, like South Carolina, LSWho and Vandy. Toss ups with Ole Piss, MSU, UGA, Texas and Mizzou. Likely losses with the other teams. So, I can legitimately see us go 3-6 in the next month, possibly 4-5. It’s about to be a rough next few weeks.

I don’t think people realize how detrimental this is to not only on offense but defense as well. GA State had 17 offensive rebounds to our 10. Imagine what better and bigger players in the SEC are going to do to us down low. Cardwell and Chaney will literally just have to put their hands up and not foul to stay in the game. Our defense will really take a hit. And on offense, better hope we get hot from 3 or at least make 45% from 3 or its going to be a loss. This injury changes the whole season for right now. Just Auburn’s luck of course…

We can’t have anything nice!

I held my breath every time Cam was down on the grass before he got up. He and CBM wait 5+ seconds all the time before they attempt to stand up.

Disagree. He’s obviously a huge loss but I think 7-2 or better is possible without him. This team is loaded.

And hopefully he will be back sooner than that. I suspect he will be.

The next 9 games:

vs. Purdue (probable loss)
vs. Monmouth (win)
vs. Missouri ( probable win)
@ Texas (loss)
@ South Carolina (toss up)
vs. MSU (toss up)
@UGAly (toss up)
vs. UTk (probable loss)
@ LSWho (toss up)

So, at best, we split the toss up games and we go 4-5. So yea, it’s a real possibility that we could have 5 losses in SEC play before Broome gets back. The Purdue game will show us how this team will look like without Broome. I don’t think we will because Cardwell and Chaney are foul machines and will have 2-3 fouls each within the first 10 minutes of the game. We will have to rely on our guards/wings to make outside shots to open up the lanes.
