It might just be 1stgame-week fever but I think Malzahn is salivating for Saturday and wants to beat the shite out of WSU, not just show what we can do. The guy is a gamer and I don't think he will be satisfied unless we have some long-run TDs and a decent mid-range passing game. We have the athletes for his offense and he's not going to hold back. He knows how many eyes are on him and staff Saturday. I don't think we're going to see as many 3&Outs as we think.
We have heard this and that about the practices and scrimmages but we don't really know what we have. He's kept more to the vest than Gene did. Could be anything. Offensively, I think we're going to smash the ball hard and give Marshall some easier stuff to work with Game 1.
From everything we've heard, this team's mental state from last year is gone and I think these players are hungry on both sides of the ball. Yeah I think we'll struggle on the Defensive side of the ball a little but I think everyone in the Football program is sick of being laughed at and we're going to see some hitting. I know WSU isn't Mid-Eastern Wyoming State A&M but I am starting to think we have a decent team under the shroud of uncertainty.
Not really a solid thread contribution but the posi-barner in me is growing.

Do I need to put you kids in different rooms?
That LT is huge. Guess their run game may favor that side.

I'll have whatever you're having
I think we'll come out of the gates slow offensively. Hopefully our defense won't give up any cheap points early and make us play from behind.

Did I see a player interview the other day (may have been Quan) that said Malzahn wanted to score 70?

Excitement, especially under a new coaching staff, is the norm for teams as the college football season kicks off. Hope is in ample supply in the SEC. Every team is undefeated for one final week. For fans and players, the moments leading up to kickoff is like waiting to open a holiday present without a clue of what's inside the box.
Might the opener be a shootout? After all, Washington State's Air Raid offense under coach Mike Leach started to hit its stride late last season and Malzahn's offense is built on tempo and giving the ball to athletic players in space.
"It’s exciting," Bray said. "That’s what we’re looking forward to. Hopefully, it won’t be a shootout. On our part it will be a shootout. We’re trying to put up 70."

Washington State, despite a revolving door at quarterback, finished ninth in the country at 330.4 passing yards per game last season, but the running game was dead last at just 29.1 yards, and the Cougars finished 101st in the nation in turnover margin
I found Connor Holiday's stats from WSU's spring game... 38/58, 406 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs
needless to say, we will have some opportunities to force turnovers.

What time is the presser? I assume we get the official game notes and 2 deep then.

Those should be AU's run stats going into the 4th Q of the Arky St game.

Right now.
Auburn depth chart will be released later today, or tomorrow, says Gus Malzahn.

yeah... kinda surprised me as well... assuming they only played 12 minute quarters like most spring games, that's a ton of passes for the 1st string QB.
not exactly setting the world on fire against... not sure if it was against 1st string D or not.

Malzahn is calling plays RL is just extra eyes ...
Damien Craig will be in the booth
CAP and Mason are equal as of right now as far as whose 1 and 2. Mason is the speed guy but is strong too.
Still need to find a #1 WR
RT spot still open, but feels either guy can start there and do a great job
Kozan has really improved his quickness and had a good camp
Avery Young is an athlete. He could play all 5 positions on the line if he had to.
Gus says Nick Marshall is "Very accurate" and not only in the deep game but in the short and intermediate game as well.

Got to work at 0500 today, had to get the guys motivated and walk all over this thing haha so I threw in a big dip and logged in the rant after. Normally on Buffalo Trace, better than Woodford IMO.
My biggest worries are: WSU throws short and we see flopping over-pursuing bodies on the way to long scores. Really hoping our Star/Safety play is there. Also want to see our WRs catch the ball clean and no bobbling/drops.

Sums me up perfectly. Let's hope less coal, moar development.

Surprised he's even releasing it before Thursday unless there's some stipulation where a team's depth chart has to be out there by a certain time.

I will have shots on standby if his percentage by halftime is high.

CB Jonathon Mincy on a new style of play? "We're going to play more man and get in their face and disrupt their routes."
THANK GOD!
