Again, like Thorne before him, if our players are consistently not doing what our coach is coaching them to do that's an even bigger issue.

I just watched a replay of that play. Thorne had D lineman on him 10 yards behind the line. I just think the play was well defended. I don’t really like the play call either in having a RB throw across the field, the ball needed to be thrown over 50 yards in the air to be successful.

How dare you throw out players under the bus!

Hugh is building a repertoire of skid marks on players. He needs to leave that stuff in house even if he is right because it always comes across as skid marks. Sean White once said couple years ago Gus's offense made the QBs look like idiots at times because there was nowhere to go with the ball. If kids can take their criticisms in stride better than the HC then that's a bad look. Freeze needs to learn to shut the hell up but I don't think he wanted Cowboy making that throw. Any time a RB is making a pass he is exempt from criticism as well. That's not in his arsenal so cute plays can backfire. QBs are trained to throw and when to throw. If a RB is throwing you should expect hero ball. I believe the timing for a trick play was fine, but it obviously didn't work.

A lot of it can be just how practice is run. The details matter in games, not in practice. Was Hunter chill when he stepped through his throw in practice or was he panicked like in game action. Was KLS always open in practice?

One thing we do know is Hunter couldn't throw the ball away because Thorne once received a trick play pass and threw it away and that was automatic intentional grounding. Did Hunter even know that?

On YouTube TV it is at 2:55:45.

In the game the time is at 11:50, 4th quarter.

All in all it sucked having a turnover here but I was more frustrated not being able to capitalize and in the redzone on previous drives.

This.

I don't mind the play call. I hate the personnel. Why not try and sneak Sam Jackson onto the field and try it with him? Wasn't like he was busy catching passes.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened to him. He had one of the better highlight catches of the season. Of course it was against Alabama A&M but he was a non-factor.

2 catches for 63 yards and a TD. 2 carries for 0 yds.

Which the later explains the former. What if Hunter knew to throw to PT or to keep but he didnt because he caught a glimpse of a wide open receiver and took matters in his own hands being a competitor thinking he can get the ball there. Maybe Hunter didn't realize how far to the left hash he had gone.

Agree. It’s not like RB’s get an opportunity to throw often, let alone in a huge rivalry game in the 4th quarter.

Hunter should’ve never been allowed to be put in that situation, let alone a 50 yard bomb.

We have no offensive identity after two seasons

It's CLEARLY an RPO offense...
With a 1200 yd rusher, a 2700 yd passer that missed 1.5 games, an almost 1000 yd receiver, a 600 yd receiver with both tied for the conference lead in td catches...

How is there no identity?

Lol, I thought the same thing. I'm always amazed at some of the stuff that gets thrown out there casually. Sadly, it's often just accepted if it fits the narrative some want.

...and a 70th ranked scoring offense, an offense that switches from a grind it out running attack to an empty backfield passing game often without rhyme or reason, baffling trick plays at the strangest times, switching QBs back and forth... it's certainly employs RPO, but it's a bit chaotic for me to call that an identity. Whatever it is, it sucks.

Thats what happens when your QB has untimely turnovers

Ive seen Prime Tom Brady New England do this dozens of times...

I would have preferred a play action bomb over the trick play.

Overall I dont understand the timing of the trick play argument. I believe the timing was okay but if it wasnt, then when is the timing okay. Middle of the field and driving on first down cannot be the worst.

I can't remember us nailing any trick plays this year though. One got us intentional grounding as i've mentioned before. Randy has brought up fake flea flickers before. I don't remember any actual fake flickers converted for big yards not counting check down passes.

Dumbest play call ever. In history.

That honor will always go to the 4th and 31 two man DL patty cake defense. Hugh has provided so many memories in his disastrous two years on the plains. The Red Zone Retard has one more year before he is looking for a job coaching private high school ball.
