Not really, thats about the time and place in the field that you'd run that.
If you think it was perfectly timed play, then I will just disagree and leave it at that, there's no talking sense to ya

1st and 10, we’re driving. Hunter is gashing them. We throw screen left, and then throw back deep right. Dumbest play call ever. In history.

He’s never wrong. Why admitt you are wrong when you can throw a player under the bus instead.
The play where Thorne kept it instead of handing off, I believe, from earlier this year was the one play there was no way around that he seemed to attack Thorne and said something to the effect of having a QB that does what he wants.

Do you think he was coached to do that? Serious question.

Correct. People dont like the result, aka bias from hindsight.

Freeze is recruiting at a higher level than any AU coach in my lifetime after taking over a complete dumpster fire
Chizik recruited a composite 5 and 6 class. I'm not sure we bring in a top 10 this year, yet.
Tuberville inherited a dumpster fire when he took over. His recruiting usually hovered in the high teens or up. In 10 seasons, he turned in two losing records: his first and his last. Freeze has already matched that accomplishment in two seasons.
Last year he blamed his assistants repeatedly, even going so far to imply he didn't have time to coach. This season, he has thrown that blame around liberally. Yes, paid men are expected to execute... and paid LEADERS are expected to accept responsibility and lead. Freeze is a poor coach and he has one more year. I feel very confident in that. Why is the guy who brought in Thorne - the sum of all our woes, according to many - going to suddenly find the difference maker this time in the portal? Or suddenly call the plays that don't look like someone's crazy uncle drawing up bullshite in the backyard? Our offensive line sucks. Our offensive line recruiting is still average. We have no offensive identity after two seasons. Why is that going to change when he overhauls the offensive staff for the second straight year?
This narrative about Freeze is tired and inaccurate. We hired a coach no one wanted and we're seeing why.

One of the absolute best posts I have seen on the matter.

I disagree. WR stats and better than the Auburn norm passing attack suggests we are trying to sling the bAUll around.
It's easy to see what he is trying to do.

I know what he's trying to do, but he also goes back and forth and sideways around it to the point where we're running the ball down Kentucky's throat, swapping QBs and back again and then going right back to empty backfield hurling by season's end. Last year was similar. Part of having an identity is establishing something and I don't agree at all that we've done that.

I didn't understand that part. He seemed hellbent on passing before he played to his advantage. But you have to admit youre happy for the win even if he broke from what he was trying to form.

swapping QBs
He did this to give the fans what they wanted.

It was actually a good call.. KLS got behind the CB and had space between the safety. Cowboy just couldn’t make the throw.
Right, our running back couldn't make the throw that prime Dan Marino would have struggled to make. That's exactly why it was a bad call.
I am not one of the mouth breathing "if you don't know the 3 tech gap fit in the Mississippi down dog defense you don't know ball!" but it is astonishing the lack of basic football understanding some people exhibit.

If you understand basic football principles then you know we practiced that play many times. Why do you think you know more than our coach?

Obviously we didn't practice it enough. As it was run it had 0% chance to succeed and now our coach is saying it wasn't run correctly.

Which the later explains the former. What if Hunter knew to throw to PT or to keep but he didnt because he caught a glimpse of a wide open receiver and took matters in his own hands being a competitor thinking he can get the ball there. Maybe Hunter didn't realize how far to the left hash he had gone.
If Hunter took the play in his own hands then the confusion makes more sense.
